I have mixed feelings about this. I really feel like this wasn't a well thought out decision on Microsoft's part. I think they intended it as a cheaper alternative to the PS3 for those who haven't already bought a 360, but to the rest of us who already own one its a bit of a kick in the balls. If it was so important to get this product out on the market they should have just offered it as an upgrade (which they're doing as well). But who needs 120 GB? That seems like overkill. I'm so all or nothing that if I didn't already own one I'd end up with this one though, and its a good buy for someone with HD. Kudos to Microsoft though not introducing required upgrades for their gaming though. Eventually it may happen, but at least at the moment an Xbox is still an Xbox no matter which package u buy.

What a rip off, the only advantage of hdmi is audio quality, no improvement in video.

so 80 bucks more for a 120 gig harddrive.

Plus, doesn't HDMI have more of that DRM hardware crap?

What about the LMNOP dongle to convert from XJF to RNN?
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

There's various revisions to HDMI so I wonder if it supports all of them or not. The bigger hd is for the media functions like IPTV but who really cares. Surprises there's no hd-dvd drive in it either.

    I thought that was correct?

The premium Xbox 360 is already HD compatible, just not HDMI, I thought HDMI High Def picture and sound or something like that?

HDMI is neccessary for HD-dvd playback due to the copyright issues that come with the discs but this does not apply to the games.
I love it when a plan comes together.

Component cables are just 3 composite cables that handle video. You have a red, a green, and a blue. Since they are just composite cables they are analog cables. Analog cables aren't meant to carry a digigtal signal. That's where hdmi comes in. DVI and HDMI are pretty much the same video quality. The plus on hdmi is that it does DIGITAL video as well as doing DIGITAL audio. Point being that digital is better.
