faggus maximus.
You know, the Nazis had pieces of flair that they made the Jews wear.

Yeah I see setups like that all of the time. Personally I don't like them.

your a geek right? so its def cool geek wise!
Kelju, where do you see setups like this all the time?
Dub guy, yes I'm a geek.
Thanks for the responses.

Not really. He only has one computer there, and it isn't even very powerful. It would be like sticking factory speakers in a car for a car radio expo. There is no place to set the mouse and keyboard except in your lab with the mouse on the chair arm.
The setup needs more computers with at least 1 Microsoft OS, an open source Linux OS, each with its own Monitor. Each computer should have at least duel core technology if not multi-processor machines.
That looks to be a wireless mouse. Unexceptible! For flawless mouse curser response, a wired mouse is a must.

It's pretty average actually except for the big screen which is kind of a waste. it's not even duel core? You don't have the rear speakers in the rear?
Anyway I have 3 computers. 2 in the office, one for me, one for the wife and one in the living room attached to our 47" 1080p LCD... The office ones are both more powerful than the living room one. The living room one is mainly only for watching downloaded movies.... you don't really need anything too powerful for that. The living room one is also hooked up through our 7.1 Denon receiver with Klipsch speakers. It's not state of the art by any means but I like it
I prefer working on a smaller screen for most computer stuff. I like to be close to the screen and being close to a 47" is just a little much.
Why would you hook all that up to a crappy ass 3.2ghz p4?
Get yourself a Core2duo at least. What graphics card are you running?
You need a tray to set your mouse and keyboard on, so it doesn't have to be in your lap.
Otherwise, it's not bad, but you can't even play today's games on it, even on the lowest settings at that resolution.
imagine porn on that![]()

I have the GeForce 7900 GTX. It is pretty sweet.

Think i see internet explorer on your desktop lol

Yeah my entertainment desktop was built almost 2 years ago, and it smokes the user's computer. Then again, I just stuck a new AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor in it. It is smoking, but now my power supply is going out I think cause it randomly reboots without warning. I got a 600watt supply, but I also have way to much shit plugged into it.

what type of board did u use ?
did u bother trying to overclock it ?
When you play for Celtic forget the Jersey forget the club, your playing for a people and a cause.

Its a 939, with 4 hard drives, 3/4 Tb storage, DVD Player, Cd Burner, wireless nic, geForce 7900 requires 2 additional power leads, a huge ass cpu fan that requires additional power leads, sound blaster audigy, and a TV tuner.
Every PCI socket is full, and all power leads are being used. It ran fine for a while, but the load is starting to kill the power supply I think. I have a application from AMD that monitors all aspects of my computer, and on load my cpu is running 19 degrees celsius, but the power load is off the scale.

wow people answer very quickly on this forum.. sorry it took so long I'm busy at work. The reason I dont have the rear speakers in the rear is because I recieved them yesterday and havent had a chance to run wire yet.
As for my processor, I plan on getting a barebone kit through Tigerdirect later this month.. just couldnt get the funds around yet. I'll be looking to spend ~$700, do you guys have any suggestions? You seem to know what your talking about.
Also as for a video card, right now I have a ATI Radeon Ice q x1650. Its 512mb card but I dont remember the rest of the stats on it. I think i've had it for about a year now.
As for the mouse/keyboard.. I set the keyboard on my lap and I have a "homemade" mousepad built into the arm of the chair. Its just made of wood but it works great and I've never had a more comfortable computer chair. The wireless mouse has great response time as well.. I had a cheap one before and it lagged like crazy, but this is a high end one and does great.. A also hate the idea of running more wires everywhere.
I mostly use this computer for media purposes like watching downloaded movies, listening to music, and playing games.
What are some games that my computer wont play well? I've been playing what I thought were the newest games like "Rome - Total War", "Battlefield 2", Comand and conquer 3, etc..
Thanks for any input on what else I can get.
Your computer would explode if you tried playing Oblivion on max settings.
If you are going to go all out, then don't half ass the most important piece of the setup lol.
for a $700 dollar budget, I would go with a 7950GT.
Maybe a Core2duo 6400.
2 gigs of ram.
And the rest is up to you.
also, i dont have a ton of money, i just like this type of stuff.
I have a friend that works for best buy so I got all electronics 5% above cost.. Also I have a friend that manages a buying company for sears so the furniture was near free.
For what I do right now I think my processor does fine..do you think upgrading will make a huge difference? Especially if i'm limited to spending $700? I was told "avsforum.com" that 3.2ghz P4 should do fine for most applications right now especially since i have 1gb ram and a decent vid card. I was told I should wait at least 6 more months before upgrading because I will probably be able to get a quad core processor that is within my pricerange. What're your opinions?
ahh also, the one program that i NEEED to use is AutoCAD 2007 and SolidWorks.. If I wasn't into gaming do you guys upgrading my processor would make a huge difference in these programs?
