Lifters often listen to music that gets them pumped, and hard rock and metal is the fastest music that I know of. It doesn't even have to be good music. It just needs to be fast with a hard beat. My lifting music on my Ipod is full of songs that I would consider cheesy, but the beat gets me going.

Like wise, I love Sarah Mclachlan, but you will never see me lifting to that music.

Also, y do u type like this?

Yah I can only listen to metal when I'm doing weights. But only Trance when I'm doing cardio.

I got some oddball shit in my mp3 player, but none of it is metal. With the sweating, heat, panting, and heavy lifting..listening to metal on top of that would give me huge headaches. And you know its gonna be high volume, otherwise whats the point..

Yeah, I think that is the norm. When my gym does the cardio classes or spinning classes I always hear some sort of trance techno playing.

Well the thing about trance, is it literally zones you out...but keeps you moving. I mostly listen to hardstyle like yoji biomehanika and Titus 1

Tool is also my favorite band, but you have the third eye thing wrong. The third eye comes from Maynard's inspiration for much of his music, Bill Hicks. Bill Hicks was a comedian from the 90s with a very cynical style of humor. Anema was completely modeled after one of Hick's outburst at the crowd when they weren't getting what he was saying, so he blew up and cursed the crowd in a rant that sounds just like the lyrics of the song.

Also Hicks would continuously tell people to "eat shrooms to squeegee your 3rd fucking eye". I would go on rants about how he had eaten heroic doses of magic mushrooms so his third eye was squeegeed quite cleanly.

Since you are a tool fan, you have to check out Bill Hicks to get a better understanding of Maynard's music.

Well I know about that whole thing.
But the tattoo I'm getting isnt going to be put there because of a rant by bill hicks. I'm taking the art, and interpreting it my own way

Stealing? yes. But I'm not stealing the meaning of it, I'm just making it something of my own, you know?

Aenima is such a kick ass CD. I like "Hooker with a penis"
    It always pisses me off

Yeah thats cool. Music is suppose to inspire, so if you are inspired all is good. Most people who claim to be tool fans had no idea what Maynard is talking about most of the time, so I share the information I have collected over the years to other fans.

The thing about me and music is like, i have to listen to the lyrics them and try to interpret them the best way i can. I like how Maynard is kind of a mystery...since i dont know wtf he is talking about most of the time, i enjoy his music way more.

unlike songs where the point is soooo obvious

Yeah, its just my nature to over analyze everything. I spent years reading about the meanings behind tool songs.

Here is some useless trivia. 46 and 2 is about the theory that the human race will evolve and become one with everything and be connected by the changing of the number of genes we are made up of.
