I bet I know what happened. The manufacturer had a production/shipping database and somebody got pissed at their boss and changed an entry in the database for brown to nigger brown, and all of the brown sofa labels were printed up and attached to the sofas.

That was a common term used to describe the color for brown leather shoes in the UK. I do not know how common that term is used today. Maybe someone from the UK can chime in and clarify the current usage of the term regarding the discription of brown leather products.

Some of the paint colors you'll find at a paint store are just as ridiculous as "Nigger-Brown." Last year, working for my summer job, I'd always head to the paint shop and I was always finding a new color to laugh at. None as good as this though.
