WASHINGTON - Pat Tillman's brother accused the military Tuesday of "intentional falsehoods" and "deliberate and careful misrepresentations" in initially portraying the football star's death in Afghanistan as the result of heroic engagement with the enemy instead of friendly fire.
"We believe this narrative was intended to deceive the family but more importantly the American public," Kevin Tillman told a hearing of the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee, which was also looking at how the military portrayed the rescue of Army Pfc. Jessica Lynch.
Yep. I was in Kabul when it happened. We knew it was bullshit the day after it happened. Shortly after his tragic death we got rumor of an AR 15-6 (Procedures for investigation Officers and Boards of Officers) underway.
Anytime you hear an AR15-6 is underway you know someone fucked up royaly.
Sadly, the press ran with a "heroic story" and the commanders allowed the story to manifest. They should have known there was nothing good that would come of their efforts to decieve.
