    Tempur-Pedic mattresses

Anybody got one or try one? They look really interesting, but I might not have the time to go to a showroom to try one out anytime soon, so I'm curious what are they like?

I got a full one not some crappy topper mattress padding. Thing is heavy as hell. There's a few things I like and don't like about it. The fact that it doesn't transfer motion is both good and bad. You won't disturb whoever is sleeping alongisde when you get in or out of bed. But is also reduces the rebound effect you get from spring mattresses so it makes sex a bit more of an endurance workout. It also retains heat which is nice in the winter but not so in the summer. It doesn't really improve sleep for me but I do toss and turn less. I can actually sleep on my side without my arm going numb. Overall it seems better than a conventional spring mattress but I actually get a better night's sleep on the couch of all things.

I sell them for a living. They are the number one item that gets returned. In the end of the day, it is a 2000$ sponge that retains too much heat, is not responsive enough to you when you roll over and has no edge support. If you want a really nice bed, get the Simmons Beautyrest Worldclass, there are a number of models of these. They have pocketed coils that separate motion like the tempurpedic but react quiclky when you roll over. The pading layers are memory foam and or latex depending on your comfort level. They are also encased in foam which really helps if you sit or sleep on the edge of the bed. The pricing on tempurpedics are set by the factory pretty much kind of like Ipods so you wont find many sales on them. A good dealer can be a bit more flexible on the simmons pricing. When someone exchanges a tempurpedic at my store, I always switch them to a Simmons and they are really happy. Good luck.

I just bought one a few weeks ago and I love it. I'm sleeping much better and neck cramps and frequent headaches are gone. I also find I sleep less with it (I used to wake up a lot in my other mattress).
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...
