Does anyone know what the laws regarding telemarketers are? Specifically, if a person A is called by a company (person B) soliciting business, and person A asked to be off the phone list, can the company (person B) call again and not face legal action?
I am keeping a record of telemarketers who called me and which ones I have asked to be taken off their list. And they keep calling. What can I do?
Put yourself on www.donotcall.org. It makes "them" legally punishable by the fed's if you are called by telemarketers. It might help a little, but some org's get exemption status (bribed someone prolly) so you might still get a few calls.

these people who ring u up to try and sell or give (yeh right) u a new mobile phone, then start telling u about them, i love em, try doing what i do, and turn it round, tell them about ur phone and try selling them urs, they get so fucked then after a few mins they go, bit sad but funny lol,
Yep. I fuck with them pretty badly. I talk about killing them with a hatchet or setting their pubic hair on fire. Real fucked up, funny, stupid shit.
Another good thing to do is just leave the phone off the hook on the side.
Most telemarketing phone systems dont let them make another outgoing call before the current call is ended at both ends. Even if they hang up, their switchboard will keep them connected if they pick up again untill you hang up yourself.
Its costing them money, and saving another person from being hassled by them. Plus you get a good laugh.

Everybody wins, and they get fucked.
You guys must all hate me because Ive been a telemarketer for on and off four years. I've never sold anything only did surveys about politics/ casinos / cable tv. The two companies only had a simple handphone and a computer from the 1970s. Basically if someone is a dick to me I'll call you back again but if someone is declines firmly I'll take them off the list. Another one that works is to say that your dead when they ask for you. That usually removes you from alot of call lists

That is what I usually do. I have no idea if it keeps the line busy, but they get my point.

God, I love that bit! The best telemarketer prank ever!
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
to improve their lives.

Thanks, I will try that. I do like to fuck with them sometimes though. It is just when they call me when I'm in a bad mood that pisses me off even more.
They arent suppose to call you past 9pm your time you can throw that a person if they do that. Also If the person calls them self a famous person like Elvis or hank williams take the survey becasue its me.
