Do you believe it's possible to move objects with your mind??

    The title says it all.
Ever since I was little, I have tried "telekinesis" or "psychokinesis"
as it's sometimes called, but to no avail.

I have heard accounts of people doing it, seen some pretty good ones on youtube that may have or may not have been real.

And I have talked to a couple people who swore that have seen someone do it in real life.

    So what do you think?
    Any good stories?

Just be careful how you go about testing it.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

Apparently we only use something like 20% of our brains. Or so they say.

If it is true, then who knows what wonders (or horrors) the rest holds....

Judging from the people I've talked to over the years, it's more like 10%.

Yes, my brain say's "Hand pick up that thing and put it over there." Then my hand does it....isn't it amazing??????
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

No, I do not believe in psychic powers or telekinesis.

i wasn't sure about ghosts till i saw one. i still don't believe most of the people that tell me they saw one

i know my kids read my mind alot like i was napping with Ty on the couch when he was about 4. i woke up n was thinking i'd rather buy a truck than a car, something i hadn't mentioned at all. Tyler woke up and said "I want a blue truck" just as if we had been having a conversation. they do it so often it's not a fluke.

so yea there's more that's real than people will readily accept.

I think it may be possible, but it depends on the object. And it would require a new level of thinking.

I kept trying that for about five years and then got myself a desk job. Now, I firmly believe that the only thing the mind can move is the body.

I believe there are things about the mind that we need to unlock, or potential that we may never tap into but it's all going to be speculation.

You guys ever watch that show TAPS about the ghost hunters? That's a fun show to watch a lot of times.

We use all of our brains, so we have no super power hidden in there to move stuff.

when tess was around 3 . i had talked to a neighbor who was telling me about a break in at another woman's apt. there is no way the kids could have heard us, they were yelling and screaming playing in a sprinkler 20 yards away. later that night laying in bed with Tess i picked up a glass decorative egg holding it up n admiring it like 100 other times. but i was thinking "this could probably brain a burgler" and Tess said "yea you could probably kill someone with that"

i'm 46, i've been married 3 times and tess has spent hundreds of hours in my room on the pc while i'm asleep. i think if i talked in my sleep i'd have been told so by now. n he was asleep too that day so if i had he'd have heard me in his sleep.

these are just two instances in many where i've seen evidence that people are capable of more than we think we are. i walked into an all guy poker game one night n with no idea why i said it... i said "that top card is the queen of hearts". it was. i called 7 numbers right in a casino in vegas one night, the last 4 i got number and color right on roulette. everyone started staring at me n i left. i wasn't betting n i was scared people would start betting on what i said. cuz it's something subconscious and when you put too much thought into it it slips away. our brains have tons of power we don't know how to, or we have forgotten how to, use.

    That's cool.

I'm not a big sports fan, but one day I was at my grandparents house, and a basketball game was about to come on.
My grandpa asked who I thought would win. Just for fun I guessed who would win, what the total points for the game would be, and by how much of a margin the winner would be.

I got all 3 exactly right on.

that was like 4-5 years ago.

LW, that's called selective memory. We all seem to remember the remarkable but forget about all of the unremarkable.

And Iain, slow down. That 1% guesstimate of yours seems to really be shootin for the moon eh?

what's your point? that so many unremarkable things occur doesn't make the remarkable things any less amazing when they happen. and they do happen. you can either embrace the magic in life or frown at it n grumble but it's there.
