Get over it. There is always going to be fucked up people on the streets. Most of them have major psychosocial problems.

Now I'm not defending bums, I don't hate them. But I also refuse to ever give them anything.

yeah, im 45 and they are bringing down the value of my $400,000 house and all of those around me. A few more of them could bury this neighborhood. About 2 months ago, one of them killed and chopped another one of them. Someone found a head along the freeway, a few days later they found some legs. My daughter used to take the bus from that bus stop. Your damned right I don't like them here and I think we should all be whining about them.

Sure there will always be street people, but what do you do when they are suddenly living on your street and you are helpless to do anything about it.

You're right. You shouldn't have to put up with your property value falling. Talk to people in charge. Call the police station day and night, over and over until they do something about it. Get involved in community programs. Talk to other citizens and get signatures.

My last house we had the same issues because our subdivision was right at the edge of civilization. We all had 1 acre lots with large wooded areas. Good camping and play areas for our kids. Paintball was always going on back there somewhere. With two grocery stores and plenty of traffic out on the main roads to mooch off of it was good living for a bum. Anyways we didn't want the bums around our kids so four of us neighbors got together and ran em off. I still donate the same as I always did, but I don't want them squatting in my backyard either.

Booby trapping the trash cans is kinda chicken shit though IMHO. I don't believe that will get any results either. If you don't like these guys, just run 'em off. These are weak people who will move on if you get tough with them. Post the area as a no-trespassing zone, enforce the posting, and be done with the bums. Worked for me.

Maybe they see it as 'their' property value rising...I bet they could sell their box for $50 in a classy $400,000 neighborhood, were they could only get a measly $10 in a lower classed neighborhood

Not everyone is a gun toting MMA specialist either. Some people just aren't comfortable with violence.

you say that like I'm some kinda whacko. I was part of the neighborhood and someone asked me to help with this ... so I did.

I also have a dislike for the homeless. KelJu and BoneCrusher made some good suggestions, although I don't know how effective petitioning would be, I can see repeatedly calling the cops (and getting the neighbors to do so as well) working. Homeless people can be a very real threat to safety; it seems like some of them don't even give a shit about life anymore that they would be willing to randomly hurt people. Having friends and dating girls who work downtown, some of them have told me stories of homeless people following them and talking to them in threatening manners when they are walking to work by themselves.

I have even heard of a homeless person turning down food because he wanted money for booze instead .

it's because of overpopulation. if people would stop fucking and having 16 kids by the age of 12 there'd be a lot less homeless people. stuff like that makes me consider genocide. especialy when our government decides to feed and take care of rapists and killers in prison, and do nothing about people living on the streets.
but on the other hand there's a certain freedome to being homeless. i'd try it.

hence my reason for editing it. but...i've known more than a few homeless people and it wasnt like they were bad people. they have just as much probability of being violent as normal people do. it may be higher due to them living rougher, more raw lives, but i'm sure ther are plenty of hobos who are just people who've been landed in a really shitty situation and appreciate the things people do for them and aren't spending their peddled change on booze.

Cops don't do anything and you can't do anything if you already talked to cops, IMHO.

It takes very little, just tell them how you feel, IMHO.

Walk up at night to the fire and stand there. When you get noticed. Say, "Hi (blank blank and blank)......... hey guys I know times is tuff.......... but so is growing up and my kid won't use the bus stop because, you scare her(is scared at school), you are to close to her. I'm not happy.................... I won't be back ................to talk ..... Walk away slowly backwards.

Worked when they camped near my child's elementary school.

BTW I watched them and learned names and used names when I said the few words I said.
