I remember when Google was the only major search engine company that didn't just want to turn over information to BushCo. I think they eventually had to, but they fought it. Google's page is so nice and minimal. I love minimalism when dealing with interfaces. Google gets the best hits.

I love Google, I've been using them since 1999 when I first started surfing the net on a regular basis. Then in college I set up all of the machines in the lab to boot to Google as their home page, of course I would watch people start up IE and right away go to AOL to do a search, I never could figure that out. Now they have a 411 service for your phone and it's free, I plan on using it from now on... Dial 1-800-GOOG-411

I started using Google in the late 90's as well. I only wish I got in on their stock when it was so damn cheap.
