How to get emails from an old drive to a new vista machine

Our shop computer motherboard died over the night, and my boss said to just go buy a new computer.

Yay, everyone in Mobile is selling vista only machines. I can't do a windows easy transfer because the old machine is dead. the import wizard inside Windows Mail, which is thew new version of outlook, is a complete piece of dogshit. It will not just let me point to the directory of outlook on the old drive, which is now the secondary sata drive on the new machine.

Does anyone have any ideas for getting the emails out of the old drive and into windows mail for vista.

I don't deal much with Vista (none of my clients are willing to use it and I discourage its use), but what's the hold-up with transferring the PST file to the Vista machine and simply importing it into the Outlook there?
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

There is no outlook anymore in Vista. I found all of the .dbx files, but I have to export them, but I have no computer to boot the drive with. I slaved it to the primary HD on the new machine and got to all of the files, but Windows Mail in vista does not let you import it that way. I wanted to order another XP machine, but my boss just had to have it today. I went to 5 stores and none of them had even 1 of the bastards. Everyone is doing vista, plus all of the major computer dealers now have a rule that If I wipe off vista and install XP, that it voids the warrenty.

Ain't that a crock of shit.

But yeah, my only import option is to import once I have exported from the old drive. Now I am trying to find a program on the internet that will go in and extract those fucking emails out into a form that I can load into Vista. I shouldn't even be thinking about work when I am not at work, and I am about to start demanding a fucking raise. I am being paid far to less for the skills I am bringing to this guy. I have to graduate soon. I am hungry to work. I love doing computer work. When doing computer work, the hours fly by, and you begging for a little more time.

What the fuck was this thread about again?

Do you have to have Vista or couldn't you consider reformatting and just going with Windows XP? I built a couple computers recently and installed WinXP on them both because Vista is still in that real fresh phase where it's not 100% on support and cross compatibility with older software and drivers.

Partition it, then run xp pro on the new partition. You'll also avoid all the misery in your near future from vista this way.

Hirens boot cd has a few good partitioning tools to help with that. Some other good stuff there too ... good luck brother K.
