There doesn't seem to be any good political threads going on right now, and it's a subject I've become increasingly interested in lately.
As for me, I'm one of the many Ron Paul supporters. I really believe in his message and believe that if he is true to his word (and if he gets elected), then he just might be able to reverse some of the damage that is being done to this country by our current administration.
Anyone else?

Why do you care about the party of the candidate so much?
I would think its more important to focus on the ideas that a candidate embodies, not the side of the corrupt political game that he is forced to join.

Ron Paul is a constitutionalist which basically means he believes in restoring our country to the core values held by the founding fathers. That includes limited government, limited taxation, and keeping our noses out of other country's business. We talk with other countries, we trade with other countries, but we do not force our wills on them.Quote:

I like Paul best among the republican candidates. He will not, however, win the Republican nomination.
Though I don't have strong (positive) feelings about any of the candidates, Barak Obama is my personal favorite (though I think Bill Richardson is most well qualified)

He's spot on with this article. However, I heard his speech today and he said "I am for free markets, free people and pro life." So, he believes in free people but no so free they have the right to control their own body?
As usual, I can't vote for a person who is pro 2A yet another hypocrite who believes in "freedom" but not those freedoms he does not personally agree with. Sorry, selective freedom does not work for me.

The party that TRULY wants to get back to what the Founders wrote and intended for this country are the Libertarians, who have a snow ball chance in hell of getting elected to a high office, but they are as close as we get to living as the Founders intended..
