Exclamation 2 Days Of 116 Degrees Predicted for Arizona!!!

2 Days Of 116 Degrees Predicted - Local News Story - KPHO Phoenix

"A potentially dangerous heat wave enveloping the desert Southwest targets Phoenix with two back-to-back days of 116-degree temperatures beginning on July 4, meteorologists warned...Phoenix sees an average of 10 days of temperatures 110 or higher anytime during the summer season. So far this season, the Valley has barely exceeded the quota of 10 days. The record for the most days reaching 110 degrees or higher was 28 days set in 2002, according to Weather Watch 5 meteorologists.

Weather experts have been predicting that Phoenix residents could see the hottest summer ever, with record-setting triple-digit overnight lows and a temperature exceeding the Valley's all-time high of 122 degrees set on June 26, 1990."

what are people here who live in AZ plan on doing those several days?

I'm not sure what the big deal is. When I lived in Mesa, Arizona, it went over 110 plenty of times.

I was in Vegas when it hit 124. Hell, I was doing framing in that heat.

me personally i just don't see how people could operate when it's that hot. i mean surely exercise or any kind of physical strain would have to be kept to a minimum to reduce the chance of a heat stroke, considering all the water you will lose from perspiration

That's why I am so glad I moved to Hawaii, I hated when it would get that hot in Texas and the humidity on top of it made it even more miserable.

It's like anything else: you adapt. Most (but not all) people just get used to it.

When I did construction, I'd go through 5 or more gallons of fluid (water & herbal drinks) each work day.

I used to go biking or jogging when the temp was over 100. Mind you, I'm a little on the masochistic side.

I know I have been thinking the same thing. Yesterday it was 112? What's the difference of 4 degrees when it's hot already.

I can't tell a difference once it's over 110 anyway. Feels fine to me I like it

i guess if you are used to it..but coming from a cool climate like Cali, getting a 116 degree day would be an absolute shock..I know when I was back in NE as a kid, the 100+ temps with the horrible humidity where all the windows would steam up would be unbearable for me. i couldn't go outside without feinting

You can't live in AZ without one.

I've been in AZ when it's 105 and it wasn't bad. I live in FL and our 90 degree days feel horrible compared to AZ's 105.

I don't fucking know why people bitch. it doesn't bother me at all. I drive with the windows down (never put the car AC on) and every day on the weekend I fucking sit in the hot tub (which is outside in the heat).

People think I am crazy. But for some reason, the dry heat doesn't bother me at all.

I was just in Boston last week and it was fucking nasty humid shit. It was disgusting. I'll take our AZ heat any day over that humidity!

It was 90 (32 c) in Edmonton today- that's like a heat wave here but most people don't have ac in their homes so that's the big difference.

yea, the humidity of the east coast is the worst. I can't drive around with the window down in that stuff. I sweat like an animal. I sweat here, but it is different because the weather is so dry. Back east I get swamp ass.

Meant to be 92 and with the humidity 105 over the weekend. I love playing ball in the heat, sure I sweat my balls off. But I just feel that much looser.

Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

My friend goes to University of Arizona in Tucson and he'll always complain about the heat. I keep telling him to check out Bloomington in August/September and you'll know what real heat is. No breeze from a body of water, just consistently 90 degrees and humid. God, it sucks.

Don't get me wrong, it's hot as hell in AZ, but it's a completely different situation when you throw in the humidity.

True story, I was sweating on the crapper yesterday. It was 85 and I think the air saturation was almost 100%.

The humidity in Alabama fucking strangles you to death. Hot is bad, but hot and sticky just sucks. I wasn't suppose to be born here. I wear t-shirts when it is 40 degrees. I want to move somewhere very cold.

temp has very little to do with burns....its the UV index you are looking for.

I also got a little burned on North End Beach

The humidty sucks here in NYC, it could be 85 and the humidty will make it feel like 95.

On a sidenote sweating is healthy for you.
