    Speeding up my mortgage payoff

I just started a payment plan for my mortgage that will allow me to make 2 payments each month. In doing so I will pay off my loan 5 years sooner and save me $19,000 in interest. Is anyone else doing something like this? Or do you have another way to go about paying off your mortgage sooner?

I pay weekly to speed up the process. Plus it is easier to manage the bills as I get paid weekly as well.

I currently have 29.3 years left on my mortgage. I will have my mortgage paid off in 15 years by applying 100$ more a month. You find me a mortgage calculator that will do that for you.

We don't have a mortgage, we don't pay rent. It's a good thing my GF inherited her house from her grandmother...
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Nice. Must be nice. You do get a feeling of self accomplishment when buying your first home. I'd rather have your situation though.
