Interesting stuff brother K. I especially liked the part about no red or blue states, and that we all stood together to get the job done. Good post.

I work with Ms. Singer at our Antique shop for the last 3 years, and she is one of the coolest classiest women I have ever met. Everyone calls her Aunt Kathy. You could only imagine how many great stories she has told us. She has lived an incredible life. I met her brother, Dr. Cid, at her house, and he tells some incredible stories, also. They are a huge part of the documentary.
When you get a chance, you have to check out Ken Burn's documentary when it comes out, but it is about 14 hours long. I got to get a sneak peak at the first 2 hours, and it was pretty good so far.

My girlfriends grandfather was one of the first Nisei soldiers in the 100th Infantry during WWII. He had some stories, some of the coolest were about this guy Young-Oak Kim - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. He used to visit her grandfather all the time, he was a true American hero, like a WWII Korean Sergeant York. Then he also told me about Senator Inouye's heroic actions, both friends of his whom I have had the pleasure of meeting....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

No, I am staying at the shop, I quit my second job working for millionaire commodities broker dude. I'm happy at the shop, I love my co-workers like best friends, I like my work restoring antiques and moving heavy shit all day. It was a tough decision, but I went with happiness over money for once, so I think there is hope for me yet.![]()
