    I'm not so sure they were spotters. The Olympics never seems to have spotters as far as I can remember. You don't usually see them on oly lifts. Maybe they can't really be there due to the explosiveness of the moves. I'm not really sure though. Someone who competes could probably speak towards that.

    I think that lifter probably squeaked out okay...at worst he broke his jaw.
