    Using IronMag's smilies on AIM

Is there any way i can use the smilies that we have on IM for AIM when i talk to my friends? A lot of times i want to use this emicon because one of my friends is the biggest bullshitter in the world and the others are funny or fit perfectly to whatever we are discussing about.

save them to your hard drive under your AIM emoticon folder?
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I'm confused because i'm not exactly a computer expert. Does it work for you on your AIM? When i check the AIM file on my hard drive, the only folders i see are resources, sounds, sysfiles (nothing are in those files).

i know in yahoo you can switch smilies but if the person you are talking to doesn't replace the same smiley in their folder to match your substituted one they still see the standard smiley. like not being able to see a font they don't have installed. yahoo kicks aim's ass.

I love that smiley too, Shiz and have wanted to use it. I haven't found a way but I've uploaded it on a picture host site and linked to it for myspace or facebook (just the link). Guess you could do the same mid-convo in AIM, just copy/paste the link a bunch to annoy him.

Spoono - Skins Tutorials - Custom AIM Smileys

you can but it's a lot of work for nothing unless you do the same on a friends pc or get them to.

..."Restart AIM and type a smiley, you should see the version you made! This was just a basic example of how to change the Aim smileys, you can also change their shapes, but if you do so you will also need to change the alpha layers according to the new shapes. The alpha layers are the black and white smileys you see in the resource editor under resource folders 1007, 1009, 1011 and 1013. Here's just a quick example on how the different shapes affect the alpha layers. Basically the only restriction in creating new smileys is that they have to stay withing a certain size limit. Also, since the DLL file is located on your own hard drive, other people you IM will only see their regular smiley."
