I'm leaving Australia mid December for 7 nights in Vegas with a friend. What are some things to do, we are staying at the Mirage.

Gambling and wandering into the desert to die.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

Death Valley if you choose DOMS suggestion

Eat a lot, drink a lot and blow your money

Are these close to the strip? I want to avoid spending too much time in transit. I'm sure to spend loads of cash.

Hit the all you can eat buffet at the Rio hotel. It's arguably the best buffet in all of Vegas.

And...you could rent a car and spend 4 hours driving to L.A. if you're so inclined.

You could also go north of the Strip and get killed by blacks or Mexicans.

Oh, and if your near the MGM Grand at night, look up. The bats are attracted to the green light and spend part of the night circling overhead. They look like green neon bats.

And Jodi's correct, give Hoover Damn a visit.

Doubt I can rent a car, my mate lost his license and I'm on my provisional license. I will make sure I avoid north of the strip.

Rio hotel is on the list. How far is Hoover dam?

It's about 15 minutes to the south-east. There are buses that you can take to get there.

My friend will be really keep for that, he has already talked about it. I have a girlfriend. Which leads me to my next question; Is it ok to use the 'What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas' excuse?

That saying....It works for me Mista....

Go to Pure at Ceasars if you love clubs... it is the best best best... but all the drinks are 20 bucks., so bring cash

Go to Scores ... it's a cab ride, I've never been there, but it's gotta be good!

Olympic Gardens is another strip place,,, men & women.. but they'll kick you out if you just sit there and don't tip.

You guys going to see any shows?

We don't gamble either... we go for the nightlife.

I'll refer you to this quote: It's only illegal if you get caught.

I just looked at scores site, looks awesome. I like clubs, so should be good. We dont have any plans atm, just to have a great time. May be a stupid question but is there bottle shops to buy alcohol from close? This way get drunk before we go out. Also is it better to sleep say 6am till 11am opposed to 3am till 8am, like the later the better?

Since you're from Oz, why don't you visit a gun range while you're there?

Yeah there are shops at every hotel and along the strip to buy alcohol but it's super expensive. We usually pack ours in our luggage (crazy) but we don't want to trust a cab driver to take us to the local liquor store... that would be advised if you're planning on renting a car.

The clubs don't get started till 10-11 and end at 4-5... then there are after hour clubs that are open till 8-9 a.m... I get up in the morning no matter how late I stay up,, so we end up lounging/sleeping by the pool until 12 or so... which you probably won't be able to do in December.. so I'd say do the 6a.m. till 11 a.m.... You're not even going to be back until after 3 anyway!

It varies, but you can expect temperatures as low as 0C at nights and as high as 10C or so.

Rule #1: Don't EVER listen to DOMS. He's a fucking idiot.

The Rio buffet has a very large selection of different types of food............but they all SUCK. Walk up the Strip to the Paris. Much better.

Hoover Dam is a great attraction, but it's NOT 15 minutes away, it's about an hour. Well worth it though.

Valley of Fire is about 30-45 minutes North. Nice place if you enjoy hiking. Same for Red Rock Canyon except it's to the West.

The Grand Canyon is four hours East. Since you won't have a car, I wouldn't bother putting that on your list.

Tattoo parlors are everywhere. Just don't go to one in a casino. You'll pay double just because of their location.

From the MGM it's a five minute cab ride East on Tropicana to The Gun Store. You can rent revolvers from .22 caliber all the way up to .44 Magnum. You can also rent semi-auto pistols from .22 caliber up to .45 ACP. Or you can rent a fully automatic rifle; M-16, MP-5, Grease Gun, S.A.W., etc. (Ammo for the machine guns is EXPENSIVE though.)

Alcohol stores are everywhere. But your best bet is to find the nearest grocery store and get it there. Best prices.

The weather in December can be anywhere from sweltering hot to freezing cold. Best bet is to pack long pants and long sleeve shirts. Throw in a couple of sweatshirts and a light jacket and you'll be fine. Don't bother with shorts and/or t-shirts, if it gets that hot you can buy some cheap ones.

Last but certainly not least, prostitution is illegal in Clark County. (That's where Las Vegas is. ) If you find a hooker here you'll pay thousands of $$$, risk catching something you'll never get rid of, and also possibly land your ass in jail.

Any other questions just send me a PM. And again, DOMS is a fucking idiot. ( I just like saying that. )
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???
