Well I am traveling down to New Oreleans for VooDoo Fest and was wondering if anyone has been to the festival before or the city. I am visiting a friend who got there about 2 months ago, but just started Law School @ Tulane, so I am gonna have to entertain my self a little bit I suspect. I already know they have the casino ferry boats which I will probably waste an entire day in, but any thing else would be helpful. Nice place to eat, put a voodoo curse on someone, or get some of the cajun culture.

It's a dirty vile cesspool and I love it...as a writer I always think of the great ones who were inspired by the place, Fitzgerald, Faulkner, Bukowski even Kerouac....it does have a certain old world charm about it I just hope the floods haven't wrecked it...
I also love the Sludge Metal scene they have there, if you find your festival boring maybe you should try:

Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
