Ann Coulter: Jews can be 'perfected' by finding Christ

She called 9/11 widows "witches," demanded killing and converting Muslims and branded presidential candidate John Edwards a "faggot."
Now big-mouthed right-winger Ann Coulter has turned her slur machine on Jews.
"We just want Jews to be perfected," she told CNBC talk show host Donny Deutsch. "That's what Christianity is."
Claiming to speak for all Christians, she told Deutsch - who is Jewish - that Jews should discard Judaism and embrace Christianity, which is a "fast track" to God. "We have the fast-track program," she said.
"We believe the Old Testament, but ours is more like Federal Express. You have to obey the laws."
Yet again, Coulter's ranting caused fury - and demands that the ultra-right, jaw-flapping author be denied TV airtime to promote her extreme opinions.
"The notion that Jews are religiously inferior or imperfect because they do not accept Christian beliefs was the basis for 2,000 years of church-based anti-Semitism," said the Anti-Defamation League in a statement.
"How does someone who says that Judaism should be thrown out, that Jews should be perfected and that America would be better off were everyone Christian continue to receive a megaphone and platform from the news network?" said Ira Forman of the National Jewish Democratic Council.
Christians also distanced themselves from Coulter, whose latest book, "If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans," is No. 4 on the best seller list.
"I don't know what denomination she claims to be," said Joseph Zwilling, spokesman for the Archdiocese of New York. "But she certainly does not speak on behalf of us."
Coulter, who also described heaven as "Like New York City during the Republican National Convention," was unreachable at her upper East Side and Palm Beach, Fla., homes yesterday.
Her publicist failed to return calls and her publisher, Crown Publishing, declined to comment.
Coulter's anti-Jewish comments were made on the CNBC show "The Big Idea."
"The decision to put someone like Ann Coulter on our air is not one we would ever take lightly," said NBC spokeswoman Allison Gollust. "However, when you talk about banning someone from the airwaves because of their views...you are getting into dangerous territory."
But Deutsch said, "If Ann Coulter had any brains, she would not say Jews need to be perfected."

Christian, Jew, Gentile. what a joke. yea she should have been diplomatic, but what a joke already. as a Christian i will be the first to admit we need to be more respectful of Jews as a whole. they are our cousins by blood and religion

I don't see the big deal either. I've always said that Jews missed the boat. I don't think that's a bigoted statement at all: I have the utmost respect for Judaism.

Every Christian believes the same thing, whether they realize it or not.

Her target market are people that read very little, don't follow politics or history, and read Fox news, and listen right-wing radio talk-shows.

Her historical analysis is awful, as well.

Her message (in that statement) is Christian Doctrine, it's the word "perfected" that has everybody upset. I'm sure she's loving the publicity since she's launching a new book, keep it up.

Meaning that as a Christian, I believe Jesus was the Son of God. Jews don't and are still waiting for Him, thus I say they missed the boat.

All Christians essentially believe this, since the only requirement of a "Christian" is to believe Jesus is the Son of God, which in turn would mean all Christians think that the Jews got it wrong.

Christians want everyone to be Christian because we believe we are right. Doesn't mean we are going to kill those who don't (ala Islam), just that we want everyone to share in the truth. (I know I may sound like I'm preaching, but I'm really not.. just trying to explain)

problem is they are using these stupid ass sound bites for publicity. using religion as a sound bite in order to attract publicity for personal gain is pretty low in my book. she gives Christians and Christianity a bad name. its really garbage to pull a stunt like that.

She is Christian and thinks Judaism is the wrong religion. Why cant she state her opinion, even if she is wrong. Many Christians believe Jesus is the only way to heaven. The Jews really need to chill, nothing can be said against their religion or "state" without being cruxified in the media. Christians get slammed all the time, and the muslims have it even worse. I don't agree with any of this people bickering about their stupid mythological books. But still she stated her opinion and now the Anti-Jewfamation league is bitching and wants to scare people from making any jew slander and censor her. I like Ann Coulter because she doesn't give a fuck about the politically correct culture. I don't agree with much of what she says, but I like the fact that she is out there saying whatever the fuck she wants while Al Sharpton is demanding apologies from Don Imus and just about everyone else. People need to grow out of this bullshit "I want to be a victim" saga. I personally don't give a shit about what you are touchy about; grow up. A 40 year old 250 lb. woman called me a cracker the other day, and it really didn't bother me any more than if she had called me stupid or skinny.

Thank you. Somebody gets it. Ann Coulter is not an honest or genuine person. She has been busted on so many lies and bad information in her previous books its not even funny. If I were Christian, I would want honest people with integrity on the front lines of our cause, not some money grubbing lying hateful bitch. She stirs the pot then pisses off the libs which makes the conservatives buy her stupid books. She is on par with a gangsta rapper. She knows what to say to sell books, and she is doing it now.

All the jews I have met in this country have been really nice, down to earth people.

But I also met lots of Israeli's when I travelled who were without a doubt the most arrogant and insular race of people I ever met. I chalked the first few down as bad pennies, but it turned out that 80% of them were the same. I might add that most of this demographic was in the 18-34 age group, I did'nt have much dealings with the older generation.

I was in no way prejudiced towards them before I met any Israeli's being against racism, but of all the various other nationalities I met, they were the ones I just could not like, no matter how much benefit of doubt I gave them.

I fail to see how it was anti-semitic. Insensitive...hardly. IMO, it is a situation of someone saying what is inferred but never spoken. The essence of religion is "We have the way." This is not a predominantly Christian notion, Jewish notion, muslim notion, whatever, it belongs to everyone who believes that they have found the way. What would be the point in choosing a religion if you didn't believe disciples of every other religion is going to hell?
