    That's a very vague question. That's like saying how can barbells be used for weight lifting. You can go train and learn all of the forms, study them, get a degree, but then you'll realize you wasted to much time studying wrestling when you get KO'd with strikes, or submitted.

    A better question would be, have any of those methods played any part in winning for a successful MMA champion?

    It seems greco-roman is the preferred in mma with guys like Matt Lindland, Randy Couture, and Dan Henderson

    The point is that it's just one element of MMA and the question is poorly written. Perhaps it should be more like; what form of wrestling is best suited for MMA? Or how much emphasis should be put on wrestling for MMA?

    It's worded like a question you'd see on a high school exam.

    no my question is like what can be taken out of each style.
    example
    folk=takedowns
    greco=slams/takedowns on upper area
    freestyle=slams/takedowns anywhere

    Dude, you can take anything from any of those MA's, as long as its practical in the MMA setting. For example, you're not really gonna try and roll a guy while holding his legs like you would in freestyle wrestling (it'll score you points in wrestling, but get you kicked in the face in MMA).

    But i remember watching a guy who was a black belt in judo fighting in the UFC. That guy was cool because guys would clinch with him expecting elbows/knees and whatnot he would toss them on their face in the blink of an eye.
