    Should I buy Xbox 360?

I really want Halo 3. Thing is I'm 25 almost 26. Do I really need to be spending my time playing video games? If I buy it then I gotta get a new tv cause my current one is only a 27inch CRT. So then I buy 42" HD plasma. Now I have to get HD service which is about 30$ more a month. Now I'm about 5K deep in the hole just to play Halo 3.

If you dont have digital cable you may have to, but if you already have digital cable, you will get most channels that are offered in HD, at least the football games, Fox, ESPN HD...ect

I think Halo 3 is cool, but most people I know who have it beat it within a couple of weeks.

If you think you'd spend too much time/money playing video games, then no.

Yeah, actually true. The people I know only played it one day on the weekends, and beat it in two weeks.

XBOX360?....I dunno,Alot of people I KNow including me have had to send it back cause it keeps breaking. It overheats, you can buy a fan for it,but I think microsoft will fix it once after that you gotta pay,we sent ouurs in the first time it aint working now and we just was like frick it,been playing Wii alot though.Aint just ours though, alot of my freinds and my brothers XBOX360 broke down too......if you shell out around 500 bucks for a system it bums you out when it keeps breaking down.
I wouldnt buy a system to just to play a game....almost like buying a house just for the mango tree in the backyard.

Ya know, I have a 360 but I coulda lived without it. I rarely play it, and have yet to play a game that I HAD to play on it, even though I'm not denying there are some good games. Atm I'm playing Blue Dragon on it, but mainly because it was made by the Chrono Trigger staff.

You have a comp obviously, get Team Fortress 2. That's the only FPS you'll need. If you're gonna spend all that money just for Halo 3, whether you know it or not you're just going to be playing it for multiplayer, which means you'll have to shell out an extra $15 a month. Trust me. TF2. Get it. Put me on your friends list. We'll play. Welcome to Steam

I really enjoy my 360, but halo 3 is only alright. Gears of War was the best game I've ever played, period though.

I had the same dilemma when I was around your age, except it was the PS2 and I wanted to play the Splinter Cell games, I always told myself that I could only play a session after I had accomplished all of my goals. It works well as a rewards system if you have strong will power. Tell yourself, "I can't play a game until I have done all the chores, etc..."

Do it. Theres so many good titles on it, its hard to justify not trying them.

Gears of War, Rainbow Six Vegas, Forza Motorsport 2, Hitman...

    GET IT.

Now the Elite version is out, the regular one may have dropped in price slightly.

    Don't do it.

I did the same thing with PS3 at launch, figured I'd get enough money over the summer to buy a TV, ended up not happening. Now I have a Playstation 3 gathering dust because it isn't even worth it to play on my small 15 inch tube style television, and I wish every day that I could get my $700 dollars back.

Get the TV, forget the gaming.

I know people in their late 30's still playing, don't worrry about it.

Although some games I think are corny, like Zelda, Dungeoans.....
I prefer action games, sports games, war games.....multi-player is the way to go for me. Playing against the computer can be a bore.

it's a GREAT shooter thing. it's online, capture the flag/points style team play.

I wonder why it is you automatically assumed something I was into was dungeons and dragons?

I got one at the beginning of the summer, it's a blast. The games are nothing to look at, not bad but not HD, but they are so fun. It almost seems like better competition, kind of like getting a high score on games back in the day. I probably play Wii sports every day for the fitness score and to win platinum medals in the training modes. Resident Evil 4 is sick, too.

    Age is irrelevant.

I personally prefer a good PC, especially for shooters. Bioshock, ET:QW, Crysis, Half Life 2, etc.

oh, and id only get a 360 if i had the extra money to toss on it. and then youre talking about buying a new tv on top of that. then paying monthly for the hd service, then paying monthly for halo 3. man, that just seems like way too many sacrifices just for a game system, and to just play halo 3 at that.

but like i said, if you got the extra cash to toss around i suppose id do it. and like a few others have said, there are some other cool games besides just halo 3.

I'm more into the XBOX live multi-player function of Halo 3. I don't care to much about how long it takes to beat the game. I think I'm gonna get it. I'll just wait on a new TV.
