Has anyone ever heard of doing this?

A science teacher at my school has been telling his students. That he does not use any soap when he showers. Except maybe once a week. He says that when you use soap you are clean afterwards but you get dirtier alot faster. So he just rinses his hair in hot water and his body in hot water and thats it. I tried that out today and my hair is as clean as when I use shampoo. Hmm...weird?

I found this... Noble Realms / Going without soap, shampoo, anti-perspirant, and lotion

If I go 15 minutes without deodorant I smell like an Italian hoagie. This experiment is not for me, good luck to you though.

I have heard that you should not shampoo your hair everyday, but not the thing about not soaping . Trying to keep an open mind, that just seems gross to me. I shampoo almost every day because I usually put stuff in my hair.

Me too. Idk how this would work. Idk if I want to try it.

Yeah thats what the teacher said. He said it was bad to wash your hair with shampoo everyday.

Not shampooing every day seems to hold true. I used to have a foot of hair on my head and it stayed nice and healthy only shampooing once a week. I can't imagine not using soap though.

I dont know about the soap but I try to shampoo approx. twice a week. When I do I leave the conditioner in there for a long time. I will do everything, get out shave, slum around and then rinse the conditioner. Probally the gayest thing I do in my life, but my hair stays thick and ohh so fab. I learned it from a girl I was dating who would actually put in the conditioner, wrap her head up and go to sleep.

Soap just dries out the skin. There's no need to soap.

Watch what happens to your hair when you stop using shampoo. Not good. The strength of the shampoo dictates the frequency of washing of course.

Deodorant is a totally different product.

I stopped using bar soap years ago. I only use skin-friendly liquid soap. Old-fashioned bar soap strips some of your skins protection.

Even talking a shower too often will strip your skin. I use to take two showers a day, but now I only take one.

I'll try shampooing only every other day. If there is no noticeable detriment in terms of cleanliness, I'll stick with it. And I'll try working down from there. Less chemicals is probably better for my anyway.

I use body wash. I will always use a cleaning product after I train at a gym.

Try Every-Day Shampoo. It's not as powerful as normal Shampoo, so you can use it every day. Works great for me.

Well I have mega greasy skin, so I have to shower twice a day. I wash my entire body, face, and hair with Head and Shoulders Shampoo. It helped clear up my skin. I wish I had the money to get in a tanning bed year round, because my skin was flawless when I was tanning 10 minutes every other day.

Why does a disturbing mental image of mino curled up in a ball trying to lick her asshole pop into my head? Get it out! Get it out!

Tests reveal high chemical levels in kids' bodies

"We are in an epidemic of environmentally mediated disease among American children today," he said. "Rates of asthma, childhood cancers, birth defects and developmental disorders have exponentially increased, and it can't be explained by changes in the human genome. So what has changed? All the chemicals we're being exposed to."
