What an ungrateful lady.
She's definitely in the right business, who would think a bum carries receipts?
Dogs back in owner's arms two days after vanishing
The beauty has been reunited with her precious little beasts.
Scores dancer Daisy Rojas' pricey puppies were back in her loving embrace Monday, two days after the dogs vanished from the sidewalk outside an upper East Side restaurant where she was grabbing a soup.
"I'm so excited, and they seem happy and healthy," Rojas, 31, gushed as she cuddled her little white Malteses, Charles and Darwin. "I'm just so happy to have them back."
The joyous reunion was brokered by a pal of Rojas' who had put his cell phone number on posters plastered all over the exotic dancer's East Side neighborhood.
Roger Schumann, 41, said he got a call Monday afternoon from a man who identified himself only as Hector.
"I have the dogs. I'll meet you on the corner of 23rd St. and First Ave.," Hector told Schumann, a lawyer who rushed from Brooklyn Family Court in a taxi to meet the caller.
When he arrived, Schumann took the dogs from the young man, who had come with his mom, and sped back to Rojas, who burst into tears when she saw her beloved Charles and Darwin.
"It was a brief nightmare for her," Schumann said. "She's ecstatic to have them back."
Rojas, who said she had barely slept since the canine kidnapping Saturday evening outside Sofrito restaurant on E. 57th St., was confused by the story Hector later offered as to how the dogs ended up with him.
He called Schumann and Rojas and told them that a homeless man approached him Saturday and offered to sell him the dogs for $100 each.
Hector said he paid the $200 and went home, but after he saw news reports on the missing dogs, he decided to come forward.
Rojas said she was skeptical of that explanation.
"I want to see a receipt," she snipped.
Schumann said Hector's story could be true. He got a call from a street cleaner who said he saw a "bum with two white dogs that fit the description."
The Daily News has documented a series of dognappings in which unsavory characters demand what amounts to ransom to give purloined pooches back.
Hector told Rojas and Schumann he wanted no reward, but asked that he get back the $200 he paid for the dogs.
Rojas scoffed, saying the best he can expect is free admission at Scores East, where she works.
"He can come with a few friends, and I'll give him a free lap dance," she said.

She left the dogs outside and said "well if there was a problem then somebody comes and finds me."
I'm sure everyone magically somehow knows those are her dogs, and falls all over themselves running in to try and find her and tell her that someone is taking her dogs.
