This is nothing more than forestalling the pain to later...when it'll be much worse.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

The best way to alleviate credit problems is to open up more lines of credit? Damn, I think I will do that.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

That is the American way. Just pay off one credit card with the other.

THere is a lot of truth in that statement.

Traditional economist have been calling for hiking rates....let the NSYE take a hit so the value of the dollar will stop falling, but the fed has something much more subtle and sneaky:

since we are a floating currency mandated by the brettonwoods agreement, we can't just push the currency value up or down, but we can manipulate it by interest rates and currency production. The fed WANTS the value of the dollar to fall. A weaker dollar is good for out export oriented business (aka big business manufacturing) and its done by dropping interest rates, which pushes up the stock market.

The only problem is that the stock market doesn't represent the country's well being as a whole.

I'm not sure which stance is more correct....I guess it will depend on where my investments are at in the next 5-10 years. I'm still in school, so my net worth is negative. This masters degree better be worth it

DB, the BrettonWoods agreement was a convention in NH post WWII. Its purpose was to bring economic and monetary stability to the global political economy by establishing the IMF and World Bank, both of which used the institution of the international bank of reconstruction and development. The IBRD was a lender to middle income European nations like Luxembourg, France, and UK. The BrettonWoods agreement basically made the US dollar the international currency of the world.

It was the first step to create international governmental organizations in an economic sense.
