That guy is on the right path. Problem is too many will see it as offensive when all it is, is reality. I mean how bad can a guy be who is trying to get a law passed that says letting your child become obese is child abuse?
I hope someday they open one of those gyms here in Honolulu...

Great guy and great commercial. I also liked the interview. He is a 100% correct, imo. When you can turn food into something evil, it tips the scales in the the chubby's favor, no pun intended. Perhaps later, once the person has lost weight, they can begin to change their view to believing that only poor selection of food is evil and healthy food is perfectly ok.
For me to me successful on a cut, I have to play mind games with myself. I have to build up in my mind the importance of sticking to my decision to eat less than I want, and to eat nastier tasting food than I would like to. I have to build it up so much to the point thta if I cheat I feel insanely guilty. Using this guilt against myself I gain the ability to not cheat because I would eat dirt if I had to, to avoid the feeling of guilt. I know it sounds insane bu it works. You do what you have to.
Obesity is both a decision and an illness, much like alcoholicism. There is no fucking way any rational person would ever consider making obesity a legally protected group. Who the fuck thought this was a good idea? Don't protect people because of their bad decisions, that is enabling them to kill themselves and be a burden on the economy. I recommend instead to help them win the battle against obesity with education and motivation.
The best thing you could do for someone who is obese is send them to the gym where a qualified trainer teaches them how to workout. Then twice a week, send that person to a nutritionalist for as long as it takes for them to understand good eating habits. I wouldn't mind fitting the bill for that. Raise my taxes to help fat people get their life back sounds like a fantastic investment into the future of this country. Plus, consider the fact that a "once fat" person will probably bust their ass to make sure the same thing doesn't happen to their kids, so their kids will be healthier too.
We need to demand that all sugary drinks, candy, pizza, hamburgers, ect. are taken out of every public school in America and replaced with a balanced meal of vegi's, lean beef, pork, fish, or poultry, a slow burning carb, and a healthy fat source like cottage cheese.
School PE classes will no longer consist of dodge ball and other bullshit. PE will be focused around running laps, doing push-ups, pull-ups, and sit-ups for younger children. Grades will be based on improvement between the first day and the last day. Older children (>8th grade) will workout 3 days a week doing a full body routine. The other 2 days they will run laps, or do sprints. If a child is not making improvement, I think it is reasonable to consider that the kid is a special needs kid, and should have experts evaluate the kid to figure out what the problem is and make a solution.
If a child is evaluated by an expert, and it is deemed the problem of the child is p[oor nutritional habits at home, the Parents of children will be fined for every week tha6t they do not provide good nutritional meals to the child. Thats right. I want these parents that are so fucking lazy that they feed their kids Macdonald's everyday to pay through the nose. Don't even try ot give me that bullshit about "can't afford healthy food". Oatmeal, lettuce, eggs, water, and chicken are all dirt cheap.
Here is some great obesity information strat from the CDC who cliam now that we are facing an obesity epicdemic.

If I were an insurance company I wouldn't even provide insurance to fat people. Its almost a sure thing they will cost the company more money than they will ever pay in. When the insurance companies finally say enough is enough, you and I pick up the tab with through disability and Medicare.
Now it was said in another thread that obesity is to result of laziness. I do not believe this is always the case, especially at the individual level. But, at the society level, I do believe it is apathy and laziness that is the problem. People who are not fat share a stake in this problem. Everyone needs to jump on board to bring the situation to an optimum state. That means you and I need to help these people lose weight. I don't mind paying high er taxes to help America's future. I don't want to live around a nation of fat bastards.
So at this point what do we do? We need to talk about plans and solutions. Once we figure out something feasible, we need to talk to others and get our ideas out there into the mainstream. We need to get politicians to vote on bills that will make our ideas a reality. Or, we could just do what we always do, and in 50 years the majority of Americans will be fat bastards.
“I used to do drugs. I still do drugs. But I used to, too.”
Christ, I fucking hope none of those things will ever happen. Fascism, anyone? People should have the right to get fat. People should have the right to eat whatever they want. People also have the duty of suffering the consequences. It is completely beyond me how anyone could justify drugs, alcohol, extreme sports, and steroids, but would ban fattening food.
People like eating junk food all day and get fat? Good for them, they'll suffer the consequences of their behaviour.

is the gym successful?

yes, extreme indeed, but maybe that is what it will take to get the message across, the USA is obese!
