sorry. very cool way to deal with things though![]()

I blew a tire on the way to work. Took my cellphone out of my pocket while I changed my tire and drove off with my phone sitting on top of my car. While at work I was on the phone with AT&T ordering a new phone and sim chip when my Raybands fell off of my head. I stepped back to pick them up and crushed them with my foot.
3 hours of bad luck cost me a grand total of of nearly $600.00.
The only cool thing about this was I have spent the last week listening to Napoleon Hill and other great writers on thoughts of developing leadership characteristics and just being a good person in general. This morning has really tested all of the principles that I have been trying to develop. I only said one curse word regarding the whole ordeal and was only upset for maybe a few seconds. I am very glad all of this happened to me because the practical application of higher status characteristics is worth a lot more to me right now than $600.00. I am very proud of myself.

Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
Damn buddy.....thats a tough 3 hours. Keep your head up your a good dude.
Shite day with busted 'bans, no phone etc - $600
A forum where people give a crap - priceless.
Here, here's a crap...
No seriously dude, that sux but look on the bright side - lots of peeps get swiped by passing cars when changing a rim, an' that's a world of hurt worse than leaving your phone behind.
I've never has much solace from the "could be worse, be grateful for what you have' stuff until I became grateful for what I have (fantastic wife, living on a tropical island and not having a 6am to 8pm, or as most people call it, a 9 to 5). It's a great technique if you can manage it though.
+1 for PreMier, I spent the last few years in contract management but did a decade of sales - I still go back to some of that training literature, awesome stuff. Everyone should have a stint at sales, changes your outlook.

Maybe this came out wrong. I meant to convey that I was not upset about my plight when I normally would have been pissed off, cursing, and throwing shit about everything.

Yep, and noted, but seems peeps here give a crap anyway, which is nice.
I tend to have MORE sympathy towards someone who handles things and copes, than someone who throws a paddy fit. I'm like a bank, if you don't really need it I'll offer, if you desperately need it I'll reject the very idea. I suspect many peeps are the same.
