    Spreading the love

Hi everyone. I certainly don't expect you to read the full bit below, but I'd like you to know that my friend got the below email from a friend of hers. At this time of year, everyone seems to be a little hard-pressed, but the information below just sort of wishes I could do anything to help out.

I'm posting this here because I've always known everyone here to be very helpful and very understanding. If anyone would like to help out, you're welcome to send donations to me, I'll forward them on from there.

Just to let you know - I fully trust my friend Amber. She would not have sent me Lisa's email if she didn't truly know this person and know her hardships to be true. If anyone's interested in helping, PM me, I'll give you my address.
    Thanks everyone,
    Fitty

This letter is prompted to 1st) Extend hope to all those couples/families who are or have struggled to endure and 2nd) As a request for help as we find ourselves in a seemingly impossible situation and desperately need help.

My name is Lisa. My husband, Jeff and I have been married 14 years this December. He has help me raise my two oldest daughters since they were 5 and 3 years old. Ashley is now 19 and Alexandra is 17 and we have a younger daughter, Amberley who is 10.

I am currently unable to work due to injuries I sustained from a work accident in July 2006. As a result of that accident, I've had one knee surgery and will most likely need another one. I also have wrist and shoulder injuries that require therapy as well as neck and lower back injuries that have continued to get worse and may require surgery, so I am told by my doctors.

In January 1999, I was hospitalized for ten days with full-blown influenza and double pneumonia in critical condition. We had no insurance.

On March 31, 2000 I underwent an MRI because of headaches and other symptoms I was having and was diagnosed with a "low to mid-grade glioblastoma brain tumor" as was stated by the radiologist. Knowing that I was facing brain surgery we sought several professional opinions and all were consistent even stating that I would have some brain damage from the surgery but was only given six months.

I had the necessary surgery in April 2006 at Baylor in Dallas which was a success as my neurosurgeon stated, "The tumor delivered itself!" Obviously, they were "off" on the diagnosis as well as the prognosis. I am alive and suffer no side effects and never had to undergo radiation/chemotherapy!

Then in August 2000, my husband was diagnosed with Adult ADD-Inattentive, depression and sleep apnea and in October just two months after his diagnosis, he was laid-off and out of work for nine months. Because we had no insurance during the first illness/hospitalization and only partial insurance during the brain tumor and my husbands diagnosis, we had to file bankruptcy in 2005.

Again in August 2005, I was hospitalized for six days with viral meningitis which took almost six months to recover. Fortunately, we had some health insurance to offset the hospital/medical costs but because I was so severely sick and off work, my vacation/sick pay was not enough to help pay the living/essential expenses.

My husband got his insurance license in January 2006 so he could do that part time, but decided to go full-time with the insurance in February 2007. Things were finally starting to pick up for us and by late July/August of this year we were looking to try and buy our very first home. Our youngest daughter, Amberley had been praying for us to get a new house for the past two years. The place we were renting was over 80 years old and had so many things wrong with it that it not only concerned us but our children as well. We found a lease-to-purchase property in the same school district for our daughters and signed a contract with intentions to purchase while we worked on improving our credit.

Well, our business has taken a drastic dive; my husband has had to take a second, full-time job and I am still not released from my doctor to return to work. We are suffering, struggling and in desperate need of help. We would really like to and need to stay in this house; it has been an answer to prayer but we need help in getting a mortgage, a down payment or just some clear direction and sound advice. We have no other place to go.

We also need to sell a car as we are unable to keep up with the payments and are very concerned about our credit. We are behind on all of our bills and my 17-year-old was supposed to get her braces off 3 months ago but we owe that bill. Her senior ring came in and we don't have the money for that either. Our oldest daughters understand that there won't be anything for Christmas this year and even our youngest can appreciate that mommy and daddy are working and staying together through thick and thin, though none of the girls know the true severity of the situation.

Through it all, even though many times my husband and I just look at each other in silence, not really knowing what to say, we have endured many, many trials. We know that any one of the hardships that we have been through is enough for many couples to separate and even divorce. We have chosen to stay together, pray together and forge ahead in our marriage, our faith and our trust in God.

I know that none of this has "caught God by surprise", but I am reaching out on behalf of my family in the hope that we can get some relief from the burden we are under. My husband doesn't say much but the overwhelming and daunting heaviness of everything shows on his face. Please pray for guidance and wisdom for both of us and if anyone wants a truly, monumental challenge then here we are!

I thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration and ask that above all you keep us all in your prayers.
    All the glory to God!

Instead of complaining to everyone else, perhaps they should keep it to themselves. I MIGHT believe it if I saw their medical records and notice of bakrupcy. When it's broadcasted over the internet, it's incredibly doubtful

Ah, like that. I thought you meant something like this couldn't happen. I agree that the chance of so much bad luck is nihil and that there is little reason to blindly trust her and donate money.

If I had known fitgirl, I'd have believed it though and I expect a lot of people will, seeing she has a 7000 post count.

Not tryin ta be a dick or anything, I mean for all I know this could have happened. But I imagine if I were in such a situation I might spend my time and money on something other than letters and stamps or sending out emails.

sorry, but when i read something like this my first thought is that it's internet spam. so tell your friend to dump the little flowery pussy fuck of a man she's with and get one who will get a fucking job instead of being one of those fuckers who blames their problems on his 'disabilities'. either that or you can all go die, because it's fucking annoying when people ask for handouts, and it makes it a little obvious that it's fake, especially when most people would rather die than admit they can't fucking take care of themselves

Here's some sound advice, put your 17 year old to work....I just looked through some old papers and found my Social Security Statement....when I was 16 I made $11,000 working at Wal-Mart as a cart pusher part-time I did do alot of overtime but I made a good amount for my age and going to school, at 17 I made $14,800...I pretty much supported myself my last 2 years of High School because my fathers "wife" who I would never give the privilege of calling my step-mother had 2 drunk driving accidents and nearly broke him financially......

Since I was knee high to Jesus I always put honey on my fries and chicken nuggets. I loved that kind of honey that you buy still in the comb. Then McDonald's stopped serving honey...and if it wasn't for the goodness of their food I would hate them with every fiber of my being. And now it's impossible to find honey still in the comb at the grocery store. still, the teddy bear shaped plastic jars are good enough.

Anyway, thanks for reading it! I guess I'm a little too much of an optimist (not gullable though). If I'd gotten this post, I wouldn't have thought twice about it, but I believed it to be from a reliable source as I've known my friend Amber for quite some time.

    Again, thanks for reading anyway.

    Go away.

The whole thing is way to sketchy for anyone to believe. Either you are way more gullible than you're admitting to, or you expect us to be fucking idiots. One thing that makes this really ridiculously idiotic for you to think we're going to go for this is the fact that you want us to send donations to you, and you'll forward them. Your thread post has all the makings of an internet scam.
And lying about your car being stolen cause you killed your kids, is a lot different than lying about someone elses bad luck so you can rip some people off on a few bucks.
Even if this story is true, they need to find a better way to do something than asking for handouts on the internet. Asking for handouts on the internet just makes them look like incompetent retards, who are setting a bad example for their kids.
We just moved from a mill-town where almost every man living there, lost their way of life, and their abundant paycheck amount, when the mill shut down. They've gone from living quite comfortably, to poverty. They get by. They deal. And they instill the nobility of taking care of their families no matter what happens, into their own children, instead of teaching them that other people will do it for them, and asking for handouts online.

    Give up.

not yet plucked as to slacken the seams

no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
