I would think not, unless they fall onto it on their back with their legs in the air.

based on this they can get caught in their own web:

Not all of the strings in the spider's web are sticky. The spider knows which are which and they move around by walking on the nonsticky ones.

Thats right. Spiders do produce two entirely different "types" of thread. They use the non sticky threads as spokes to move around their web while they build the proper sticky bits.

    Of course they can.

A spider can get caught in their own web too.

Spiders do produce an alternating pattern like princess' post suggests but that pattern may vary from spider to spider. Guess this could be kinda like a lock on your house, only you have the key, well maybe only the web's owner knows the pattern. I've seen spiders caught in webs before by the way.

7fatcow.com » Spiders on Drugs, the Web with the Story

Why is it they don't get stuck in their webs while on drugs?
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
