Just bought a laptop, buying another....
So about 5 months ago I bought an HP DV9000 with a 17" screen, Athlon Turion TL-58, 2GB RAM, 120GB HD, GeForce 6150. I still love it, but an opportunity has come around that I would be stupid not to get.
My in-laws are in town. They're the ones I built the SuperBee PC for. My mother-in-law visited me at work and expressed interest in a laptop, more specifically a 17" one.
There's an insane deal on a Gateway M-6824 right now. The specs are Intel Core 2 Duo T-5250, 3GB RAM, and a 250GB HD, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT @ 15.4 inches. It retails for $1049. The one we have in store is the last one, so when selling a display we subtract 10%, plus my discount is 10%. That's 20% off! But here's the real news: there's a $400 mail-in rebate!!
So, it'll be $845 in store plus TAX. After rebate it'll be $445!!
What we're planning on doing is selling my current 17" laptop to my in-laws for $400 making my new laptop only $45!
