    Craigslist is fun...

So I foolishly bought a PS3 at launch last year spending over $700 dollars in the process, a decision I compare to the ill-advised one I made last night with that chick.

I put it on Craigslist a while back but all I got was spam, this time I listed my phone number and within an hour I've gotten two phone calls.

One guy has already offered $400 dollars but $500 has such a nice ring to it...

    1. Does anybody use Craigslist?
    2. It's in perfect condition and I think $400 is too low. Is $400 dollars too low? Is $500 dollars too high?

So far both people have topped out at $400 dollars stating that they "didn't have any more money." I find that to be so ridiculous, which is why I'm probably not going to sell it to those douchebags. I understand I'm trying to get the most money and their trying to get it for the least money, but I'm in a complete position of power and there is no way I'm going to sell it to someone who can't overwhelm me by throwing in an extra $25 bucks or something.

That looks like a solid movie. A former co-worker of mine was a Craigslist connoisseur to the point where there wouldn't be an hour that would go by where he wouldn't be talking to somebody on the phone. He became so involved that it was a full time job for him.

Who knew buying a piece of shit 1990 stick shift Honda for 8 hundo and then fixing it up would net him like $2000 dollars profit.

well.....considering I believe the same system you have now costs $499, and they are offering you $400, I think you should take it considering it is overa year and a few months old. To be honest it's a good deal, but why do you want to sell it anyway?

I bought one last year after my Xbox 360 took a shit and I don't regret it one bit. Sure, the xbox has a bigger library, but I am of the opinion that will change this year, and I like the whole feel of the PS3 better, it seems more polished and sophisticated, whereas the 360 seems like a more kid geared format, IMO. Plus, BluRay movies are fricken sweet

I agree with everything you've said in regards to XBox versus Playstation. I have PS3, my brother has XBox 360 and to me, Playstation 3 blows it out of the water. My brother's only reasoning for preferring the 360 is that it has Halo, but I don't even like that game that much.

I'm selling it for two reasons:
    1. I simply just don't game as much anymore. I used to buy every sports game every year and play it non-stop, but I really haven't felt obligated to do so in the last couple years.
    2. This kid on my dorm floor last year worked at Best Buy so I figured I could buy the PS3 and then get an employee discount on a nice HD TV, but I ended up not having enough money for the TV I wanted and then lost contact with the kid over the summer. PS3 looks no better than Super Nintendo on a piece of shit tube style TV like I have.

$400 dollars doesn't seem that bad when you put it like that, I'm just hesitant to make the deal because I know I'll just buy drugs with it and trading my Playstation 3 for an ounce of pot doesn't seem like a good investment.

I found a TV for a thousand dollars that I really like, jokes aside, that's where the money for the PS3 would go if I do sell it.

Off topic, but I hope Sony goes belly up. Nothing they make is worth a shit anymore. They use to be so great.

Do you have good credit? I ask because, maybe you can find a deal on a TV around like say president's day, where you can pay no interest for 2 years or something like that. I bought a 46 inch samsung lcd from sears a couple of months ago and I got no interest for 18 months on the sears card. So it works out to about $125 a month or something like that for a $2300 TV.

That is a really good deal.

I actually have great credit for some reason, I signed up for a J Crew credit card so I could get a percentage off some clothes I bought for the Holidays and my limit on the card was $3000 compared to my older brothers whose was under $1000. Not sure why, but I think it has something to do with me signing up for all those credit cards at ballgames... ha...

I think I might look into that..

Toshiba and Samsung are my brands of choice. I've had the most... dare I say luck... with those two companies products compared to Panasonic, Sony, etc.

Ha, to get the free t-shirt or towel right??

watch out, don't have too many open credit cards as that will really lower your credit score, even if you don't have a balance on them. they look at the total amount of credit that you can hypothetically extend yourself on as one of the criteria.

For example, I think, not sure, but I think, that someone who has one credit card with a revolving $5000 balance and a limit of $10,000, but pays say $1000 every month will get scored better than someone with 8 credit cards with say a $1000 total balance on all of them, pays about $200 a month total, but with limits totaling $20,000. They see that you COULD charge up to $20,000 and use it against you.

I think, anyone correct my if I am wrong.

Exactly, nothing like a free t-shirt, although I had to argue with a company who tried charging me for a Golf Magazine that I had never read, seen or received in the mail.

I probably won't do it as much, or if I do I'll just come up with a fake everything before I sign up. Afterall, all you need to do is remember some fake Social Security number for when they quiz you, which takes like two minutes.

I have never used a credit card besides the J-Crew one, and that was paid off almost instantly. I pretty much get them in the mail and then cut them up and throw them in the trash.

I really only throw them out, but because I recently had to argue my way out of paying for that golf magazine, I now know that I need to call and cancel the account along with ripping up the credit card.

    Stupid me.

There a reason you don't use a card? As long as you're responsible about paying them off in full each month, it's exactly the same as cash. Except with 1% off of everything

I'm going to have a lot of debt from college tuition alone in a couple of years, at this point in my life I just like paying with the money I already have so I don't foolishly add to that debt.

I'm responsible enough where it wouldn't be a problem, but it's just one less bill to worry about right now.

    Ya know?
