German researchers have proof that the Koran might not actually have been written by

    .......Mohammed.

Indiana Jones meets the Da Vinci Code

    By Spengler

Islam watchers blogged all weekend about news that a secret archive of ancient Islamic texts had surfaced after 60 years of suppression. Andrew Higgins' Wall Street Journal report that the photographic record of Koranic manuscripts, supposedly destroyed during World War II but occulted by a scholar of alleged Nazi sympathies, reads like a conflation of the Da Vinci Code with Indiana Jones and the Holy Grail.

The Da Vinci Code offered a silly fantasy in which Opus Dei, homicidal monks and twisted billionaires chased after proof that Christianity is a hoax. But the story of the photographic archive of

the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, now ensconced in a Berlin vault, is a case of life imitating truly dreadful art. It even has Nazis. "I hate those guys!" as Indiana Jones said.

No one is going to produce proof that Jesus Christ did not rise from the grave three days after the Crucifixion, of course. Humankind will choose to believe or not that God revealed Himself in this fashion. But Islam stands at risk of a Da Vinci Code effect, for in Islam, God's self-revelation took the form not of the Exodus, nor the revelation at Mount Sinai, nor the Resurrection, but rather a book, namely the Koran. The Encyclopaedia of Islam (1982) observes, "The closest analogue in Christian belief to the role of the Koran in Muslim belief is not the Bible, but Christ." The Koran alone is the revelatory event in Islam......
    more.

Those researches are going to have a Jihad on their asses.

Who am I kidding? A comic gets you killed. I'm betting this piece of research is going to get all of their families killed.

    Just my opinion,

The co-called prophet Mohammed was not a prophet.

Muslims, from a very young age, are taught that the Koran is the direct word of god.

According to Islam, Mohammed was illiterate, but god enabled him to write the entire Koran.

    Hmm....

I have read many versus and the Koran is a very disturbing book.

(I feel the same way for the Old Testament, New Testament, Talmud, Midrash and Mishnah.)

Islam is a very bad recollection of a man who took a trip through holy lands and got his facts mixed up with Jewish, Christian and a bunch of tribal mythology. I could do better by cutting verses from the Bible and Torah and then pulling them randomly from a hat and pasting them in the order which I pick them.....

Scientology is not considered a religion by many, but a trans-national corporation.

Do you know the beliefs of Hubbard?

    It's not a religion, IMO.

Having read the Qu'ran, there's a lot of weird stuff in it, but a lot of it is basically a more poetic old testament. I personally like the style more, but perhaps that comes from having studied a bit of arabic, so I kinda understand the composition.

As for it being written by someone else, yeah it makes sense.

Islam isn't the problem, and neither is religion. Their culture is the problem.

Yeah, but it doesn't help giving them a book that tells them to kill someone every few pages.

It's clear that you've either not read the Koran or the Old Testament.

The Koran is full of shit like "Kill the unbeliever" and "If a follower of Islam consorts with an unbeliever should be put to death." Way more than the Old Testament. And sure as shit, more than the New Testament.

But keep talking out of your ass if it makes you feel better.

It's clear you have not actually read it. I have a copy right in front of me. I've read it the entire way through. And I've read the Old Testament. They're really about as bad as eachother. Now, I'm just gonna pull a few parts out for you:

Quran 5:69 says : "Surely they that believe, and those of Jewry, and the Christians, and those Sabeaans, whoso believes in God and the Last Day, and works righteousness--their wage waits them with their Lord, and no fear shall be on them, neither shall they sorrow."

5:82. " . . . and you will find the nearest in love to the believers (Muslims) those who say: 'We are Christians.' That is because amongst them are priests and monks, and they are not proud."

It's not the Quran's fault. It's the followers who misinterpret and confuse what the Quran says and proclaim it as truth.

“Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him.” (Hadith Al Buhkari vol. 9:57)

“I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, none has the right to be worshipped but Allah” (Al Bukhari vol. 4:196).

“O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you” (Sura 9.123)

    Yeah, completely misinterpreted.

    Yeah, completely misinterpreted.

First, those first two are not from the Qur'an, but from Sahih al-Bukhari, a Sunni Islam text, not widely accepted among Shi'ite and more moderate Muslims.

Those orders to fight also have to fall under the guidance given in the Qur'an to, "Fight in the Way of God against those who fight you, but do not go beyond the limits. God does not love those who go beyond the limits. {Quran 2:190]"
