    Tea Discussion, Please Enlighten Me

I read a lot about tea being the most popular beverage around the world but I've never understood why.

Could you tea toddler's enlighten me on why you like tea and the ways you drink your tea?

I like tea because I have trained myself too.

Green is always delightful, its a mildly caffeinated beverage filled with antioxidants, I always feel really "dry" subcutaneously after I drink it.

I also like Yogi's Throat Comfort, being a vocalist, Id like to think it helps sooth my throat.

Honey is the only thing Id use to sweeten my tea, preferably a local honey if you have the cash for it, just stop by a farmers market in the area.

I love tea. There is a place in Brooklyn called the Tea Lounge, it has something like 50+ types of tea. My favorites include Earl Grey, Green Tea and English Morning (or Breakfast, i always forget which it is). I sweeten it with splenda, no milk. I can drink it plain but prefer it to be a little bit sweet.

I'm not a connoisseur or anything but enjoy drinking tea, its a European thing. I've been drinking it since i was a kid. We even use tea as home remedies for pink eye and other not so serious illnesses. I probably drink anywhere from 2-6 cups of tea/day.

The only tea I know is lipton tea bags. Is there really a big difference with other teas out there?

Abosultely. Different teas are made in different regions. Japan, China, India, Sri Lanka. Soils and farming practices impact flavour, and properties. For Instance Gykuro Green tea has higher L-theanine content from the way it is grown.

I guess I'm speaking about taste most notably. I know different teas have different chemical make ups thus changing flavors but I would think what you put in the tea has the most impact on taste, no?

I don't put anything in my tea.

I have read some things about milk impacting the benefits from tea.

Yes teas absolutely have different flavor. Lipton is black tea. Try Earl Grey, its a black tea and superior to Lipton. The only kind of tea i don't like is the fruity herbal teas (like those lemon zingers and what not, yuk).

    No sugar, splenda, honey, nothing?

Also, I've heard you most steep the tea at the proper temperature in order to get the most flavor out of it. Do they make tea pots/makers with temp settings for different teas?

    Nope nothing.

Yeah you can get quite elaborate with different tea sets I don't bother. Depending on the Tea will depend on the Temp it should be brewed at.

This site has quite a bit on it.

You want some good tea then order some from here, I've had several variety packs and they were all excellent. I get this Ginseng Tea from ChinaTown, the ginseng is so pure and good you get a nice clear headed buzz from it....I can't tell you the name because it's in Chinese...

I like the blueberry tea that comes in the box with the picture of two bears white water rafting. I drink my tea and have fun imagining what crazy adventures those bears must have in a world where they have human intellegence. I had to make a weird comment, but i really do like the blueberry tea that comes in said box.
