Rush Limbaugh Says He May Not Support The Republican Nominee

Rush Limbaugh Says He May Not Support The Republican Nominee - Say Anything

Said as much on his radio show today.
Yes, Republicans, it’s gotten so bad that one of the unofficial members of the “Republican Revolution” may not even vote Republican in this year’s Presidential election.
Good for Rush, though. It’s heartening to know that such a prominent conservative is willing to stand on principle and not act as a cheerleader for whoever the eventual GOP nominee is.

And a transcript of the pertinent section:
CALLER: Earlier you had mentioned that when the time comes, you’re going to announce or get behind somebody, and I’m just wondering, what’s your selection criteria for picking a candidate, and two, how do you decide when that time is that you’re going to announce? I’m more interested in how you pick a candidate. Because especially this year with—there’s really not a true conservative. How do you narrow it down?
RUSH: That’s an excellent point. I don’t have a time frame, just to address that first. I don’t have a time frame.
    CALLER: All right.
RUSH: And I also, I can see possibly not supporting a Republican nominee.
    CALLER: Hm-hm.
RUSH: And I never thought that I would say that in my life.

I was listening to his show yesterday, it's kinda shocking that he would say that, being the zealot that he is. I guess it just illustrates how truly miserable McCain & Huckabee truly are. I had alot of hopes for Thompson, but it's not looking too good for him.
Damn, another election where I have to vote for who I despise least, as opposed to who I believe in the most.

Most of the conservatives do. I just wish Rush would go on ahead and over-dose on his prescription drugs so we can finally close this chapter.

So did I, but his campaign is now nonexistent.
I also did think Guliani was going to do better but now a lot of his crap came out of the closet.

    Absolutely.

I used to listen to Limbaugh in the early 1990s.

    He's an Info-entertainer.

He's a hypocrite. (Too many examples to list.)

He's a radio host with bias and NOT a journalist or analyst.

Why are people fooled by this hypocrite in the first place?

Alot of talk about Guliani doing well in Florida. Which has alot of Delegates, and should put him back in the game. Guess you'll have to wait and see if his poor showing impacts that.

Someone test that mans piss, I think he's turned to the grim reefer!!!

I have nothing against Rush really, all he is is an entertainer who's material happens to be politics and we all know in politics to make it look good you gotta either act far left or far right to get noticed....anyone middle of the road would be ignored because thats just your average American....It's just amazing to see him falling out of character, you know the political situation is getting weird when someone as hardcore as him isn't gung-ho about the party line he tugs for....

and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

If McCain is the nominee, I'd seriously consider not voting for President or voting for a 3rd party (if there is a decent one). I don't like many of the 'Republicans,' McCain being one of them. I'm not sure where you got the idea I would just support any Republican nominee no matter what, or why you decided to say that.

.. then I came along & ruined it all.

To ask who cares what this "lying, hypocritical drug addict says or does" is pretty funny actually. Millions of people do, and he holds a lot of sway in the Republican party. To try to just brand him as an "entertainer" is foolish.

I make my own decisions, as he sugests, but I definitely listen to what Rush has to say daily.

I agree on McCain, but no matter how much I might not like the candidate, the opposition is Hillary. It's still a no brainer. Besides, I still think Romney will get the nod. He's not my choice either, but better than McCain.

You are stating facts, which I have no problem with what so ever. You are 100% correct about how Rush holds a tremendous amount of power, and controls votes. Rush could make or break a conservative candidate. I don't know why you quoted me with your comment, because we agree on this topic. Rush is a powerful man, far from being just an entertainer.

My problem starts when people start defending his character. He is a total piece of shit, and anyone saying differently is lying or in denial.

I only quoted you because I was coming to Rush's defense (down on my knees for him! ) The rest wasn't for you.. just anyone doubting the importance of Rush's endorsement.

I have to admit.. I'm pretty upset with Rush & Hannity. McCain may not be my first choice, but definitely over Mitt Romney. I may not agree with him on some things, but on the important things I definitely do.

Regardless, for them to try & throw the election from our obvious candidate who has a good chance really pisses me off. Rush's new favorite phrase is "We had to have a Jimmy Carter to get a Ronald Regan." Really irresponsible in my opinion.

McCain might be a wild card, but Clinton is not. We know exactly what she'll do. Rush is pissing me off with this.

I'm confused. Are you pissed off at Rush for not writing a blank check for the Republican nomination? No Republican is going to vote for Clinton because he didn't give McCain an endorsement.

All judgements on Rush aside, it's refreshing to hear him make the point that none of the main contenders for GOP are true conservatives. Ron Paul has said this to their faces at debates multiple time. It pisses them off because they know it's true. "Neo-Conservatives"

I'll take any of the Republicans over Clinton, but I won't write a blank check or pay lipservice for them.

I agree 100%. I have SEVERAL McCain issues, but I don't agree with Rush's incessant degredation of him it clears the road for Hillary. There's too much at stake.

Rush degrading McCain can clear the road for Hillary?

So, McCain supporters will listen to this radio talk show entertainer, and then switch their vote to Hillary?

    I'm a wee bit skeptical....

No, but they may stay home. I just think it's an important election year... one that will receive plenty of attacks from the left. We don't need them from the right at the same time. I understand what they are angry about, but the Hillary factor should trump it... easily.

Yes, some may stay home and avoid the polls.

I don't see any Left in the USA at all. (I am not on the Left.)

Hillary is in the Dead Center, and I agree, Hillary's negatives are so high in polls, it would help McCain get more and more of the Independent vote, which is quite large in the US.
