    The difference between body/face lotions..

    Okay, girls...

I've always moisturized with some stuff that either my mother picked up at the grocery store or now that I'm buying groceries for myself, something I pick up. I recently saw an advertisement for some "nice" lotion and I went to see if I should buy it and it's like 30 bucks, compared to the grocery story stuff that doesn't exceed 5.

    So.... is it worth it?

My doctor recommends Cetaphil. It's fragrance free and non-comedogenic.
The best lotion I ever used.

    It's also way cheaper.

This brings to mind that anti-acne liquid ( I forget the name) sells for like $5.00 a bottle, well I brought witch hazel for $1.00 and it smells the same and does just as a good job.

    I've always used vichy
It's rich in acids which are essentail for keeping your skin youthful looking

As for as body lotion, the biggest bang for your buck is any vaseline product. Otherwise, my face and neck get all the vitamin and acid rich perks of an expensive lotion

Vichy, like other companies, have different products for different skin type. People are always on an oil of olay kick, but i've found their products don't vary as much as vichy does, and my skin is picky.

I use Kiehls Hand Salve, if I don't my gf won't let me touch her because my hands get very rough....

Ultimate Strength Hand Salve | Kiehl's
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

What benefits do you get by using a lotion? Is it relaxing?

I will refrain from using soap, body lotions or basically anything other than shampoo until I see proper evidence on the positive effects of lotions. Most lotions either oil or dehydrate your skin, that's all.

I've had lotions that oil...but never one the dehydrates
mind you, i refuse to use any kind of bar soap on my skin

it's always a hard bristled body brush with a cream cleanser.

I'm going to buy Cetaphil at the store tonight (I agree with you, it's the best one), but I'm still in the market for a nice face/hand lotion.
