    Diary of the Dead

Hope this hasn't been posted already.

Anyone else excited about this one? It looks better than that Land of the Dead crap. They are also remaking Day of the Dead but it doesn't look that good.

Id see it. I was pretty surprised that Land of the Dead was as bad as it was considering it was Romero's work.

So, what, the new thing is to have every movie taped from a average person's POV?

    Saw this yesterday evening.

Bad acting, little/no character development, bad dialogue, and bad story. VERY disappointing. There were about 9 people in the entire theater.

The director of the Diary is the same guy who directed Land, George A Romero. He is actually the writer on both too. Although he is a zombie legend I dont know if i can pay for another one of his movies after the recent Land of the Dead.

I heard an interview with Romero about this film, he said that when they first decided to do the movie with "the average person's POV" not a whole lot of movies had been done like that, so they thought it'd be cool to do something a little different. But then Cloverfield and a few others came out during the production of DOTD and he realized that maybe it wasn't all that original of an idea.

I wonder who won the contest for the short to be shown on the official DVD?
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I know, and I rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreally wanted to like it. I felt the same way about Land of the Dead. And guess what ......he's making a sequel to Diary of the Dead.

Even on the Day of the Dead (1985) DVD it says that he's a bad director. I think they should just get him to write the movies with James Gunn (Dawn of the Dead 2004) and get Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead 2004) to direct. Dawn of the Dead (2004) and Night of the Living Dead (1990) are my favorite "Dead" movies.
