Question VCR Recording With Digital Cable?

Anyone still use their VCR to record tv programs? I know most use DVR or a dvd recorder. I was wondering how to record programs on channels higher than 99, since most VCRs only go from 2-99. I gave Comcast a call and the rep said something about coaxial cables. I was wondering if anyone here does this.

Please don't say how VCRs are obsolete and tell me to upgrade. I am just wondering if someone can tell me exactly how to do this. I really want to tape classic games from ESPN Classic, which is on channel 407.
Chuck Norris once lost his keys and couldn't remember where he put them. So he tortured himself for half an hour until he gave up their location.

Well, isn't your tv on channel 3 the whole time you're watching cable? Just set your vcr to ch 3, and tune in to the game via cable box.

Yep, coaxial from wall to cable box to vcr to tv. Channel 3 on vcr and tv and press record.
