Shortwave radio...anyone listen to it?
Just asking if anyone is into shortwave radio here.
I use to have a small shortwave radio that allowed me to pick up
stations from Mexico the United States and China ( I'm from Canada).
It was pretty cool to get all those stations and I lost many hours of sleep
tuning in and listening to everything.
I've been thinking of buying something bigger that gets better reception
so I'll be looking at something like a 300-600$ setup but don't want to
waste my money on potential junk.
What do you guys use?

Good point. But even so, internet broadcasts, discussion shows and
music stations are often prerecorded stuff
and are still limited in selection.

I was a radioman in the navy...when we got bored we would put the HF on the speaker circuit and scan through and catch people chatting it up or catch some music shows....it also came in handy for going to WWVH and setting the time on our watches.....

no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I'm a HAM. Not very active though. I listen to some local repeaters in my county and adjacent counties. Mostly VHF and UHF. 70 centimeters and 2 meters.
