We haven't talked about guns in a while.

To my brothers in arms, since both houses of Congress are now controlled by the Democrats (And I don't see that changing come November), how much damage do you think will be done to our Second Amendment rights if Hillary or Barak are elected POTUS? Especially considering that the next POTUS will probably be responsible for nominating at least two Supreme Court justices.
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???

    Hmmmm...guns and Democrats. It's a solution to a problem.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group

about another group that actually does something

There will be stricter gun laws, probably. The assault ban will probably be reinstated which I have no problem with. 9 bullet clips hold more than enough for me, and I don't need an AR-15 to defend myself.

All in all, I doubt too much will happen. The NRA is still strong.

I just hope they leave it alone and fix the real problems our country is facing. I'm sick of each party having boogeymen they seem to have such irrational fears of......

    Thanks.... from another Marine

    Police investigate the scene -

The 71-year-old retired Marine who opened fire on two robbers at a Plantation, FL, sub shop late Wednesday, killing one and critically wounding the other, is described as John Lovell, a former pilot for two presidents.
He doesn't drink, he doesn't smoke, he works out everyday. Lovell was a man of action Wednesday night.
According to Plantation police, two masked gunmen came into the Subway at 1949 N. Pine Rd. Just after 11 p.m. There was a lone diner -- Lovell, who was finishing his meal. After robbing the cashier, the two men attempted to shove Lovell into a bathroom and rob him as well. They got his money.
But then Lovell pulled his handgun, opened fire, shooting one of the thieves in the head and chest and the other in the head.

When police arrived, they found one of the men in the shop. K-9 units found the other in the bushes of a nearby business. They also found cash strewn around the front of the sandwich shop according to Detective Robert Rettig of the Plantation Police Department.
Both men were taken to Broward GeneralMedicalCenter , where one, Donicio Arrindell, 22, of North Lauderdale died. The other, 21-year-old Frederick Gadson of Fort Lauderdale is in critical but stable condition.
A longtime friend of Lovell, was not surprised to hear what happened. ''He'd give you the shirt off his back and he'd be mad if someone tried to take the shirt off your back,'' he said.
Lovell worked as a pilot for the Marines, flying former Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. He later worked as a pilot for Pan Am and Delta. Lovell is not married and does not have children.
He is not expected to be charged, authorities said ''He was in fear for his life,'' Rettig said. "These criminals ought to realize that most men in their 70's have military backgrounds and aren't intimidated by idiots."

Something tells me this old Marine wasn't "in fear" even though his life was definitely at risk. The only thing he could be charged with is participating in an unfair fight. One 71 - year young Marine against two punks. Two head shots and one center - body- mass shot - good shooting!. If not for U..S. Marines, I would have completely lost hope in America a long time ago. That'll teach them not to get between a Marine and his meal

Not sure I agree with all that. Yeah, the NRA is strong, but they'd be up against an entire Dem congress and a gun HATING president.

They might try and get the assault weapon ban in effect again, but I dont see that being much of a problem. Other then that I dont think they will be able to accomplish anything else.

I agree with Oldbob! Make no mistake.....they DO want your guns. And they will try EVERYTHING to get them. What will you be able to do about it?
Nothing, if you don't want to go to jail.

I possibly see the making of a new civil war if that happens.

which 2 supreme court justices do you feel will be replaced in the next four years?

im not sure the dems have the strength to go after guns at the moment. even if they get the presidency. the big question i have right now is the case in front of the supreme court right now dealing with concealed carry in washington DC. that one could go either way and that is a big deal. a direct ruling by the court that could define the 2nd amendmend is huge. that will either handcuff or enable a democrat controlled congress.

I'm pretty sure it's two of the liberal judges that are closest to retiring, Sandra Day Oconner and Ruth Bader Ginsberg. So yeah, the next pres. will probably be responsible for nominating two new Supreme Court Justices and that will have a HUGE affect on not just gun control, but a whole laundry list of other issues.

dude, where have you been? sandra day o'connor was a moderate and she was replaced in 2006 by alito who is a conservative. and if 2 liberals leave and get replaced by liberals the court hasnt changed much. the balance of power on the court remains pretty neutral because of a few moderate swing votes.

Barack Hussein wants a national ban on concealed carry. Florida pioneered concealed carry laws in 1989, since then all but 2 States have adopted concealed carry. The corresponding period of time has also been the largest drop in violent crime in recent history. Looks like a solution without a problem, IMO.

i think the future of gun carry laws in this country rest in the current hands of the supreme court. by the end of the year we will have had a major victory or set back to the rights of americans to "keep and bear arms"

Okay, I guess I'll blame that one on Alzheimer's. It was Breyer and Ginsberg I was thinking of.

P.S. I don't want neutrality, I want to play with a stacked deck. As long as it's stacked in my favor.
