    Ebay jerks

I need to vent something about an ebay experience I recently had, but it would be nice to hear off everyone else about the asshats you've dealt with on ebay!

Over the past year or so ive managed to accumulate a good feedback score with no negative feedback. Then one day I buy a laptop off some guy, it was being sold with no hard drive or cd drive, but it clearly stated it came with the charger. It was described as very good cosmetic condition with only a few minor scratches on.

I won the item and waited around 2 weeks before delivery, fair enough I guess cos it was near christmas time. The laptop came in a box that it would barely fit in, in absolutely no packaging whatsoever and just in the box! there was no charger and 95% of the screws were missing from it (which was not stated in the advertisement) so at this point im pretty pissed off, I email the guy and he replies about a week later saying that he didnt remember advertising it with the charger! I ask him if hes going to send the charger seperately and I get no reply.

Naturally at this point im pissed off and getting nowhere and so leave bad feedback being completely honest, explaining about the slow delivery, poor communication and the item NOT being as described.

A week or so later the dickhead leaves me bad feedback in retaliation saying "Shit ebayer, read the ad properly next time, muppet"

Its idiots like this that ruin ebay, he was clearly in the wrong and offered a very poor service and an item falsesly described, so people need to be warned about him by giving him bad feedback, but it makes me wonder what the point is when your just gonna get the same in return.

Anyway im done, just needed to vent

If you pay using paypal file a claim try to get your money back. Also the auction information should still be available, go check the description to make sure you're right.

I've never used Ebay, until they can assure me that I won't get ripped off theres no way I'll buy anything from there......I do buy on the internet often but from actual companies.....hell you can find inexpenisive laptops from a reputable dealer why risk it with an unknown asshole??? Thats just my own view of things....

I've used eBay for years with only one problem. I won a bid on MS Office. But the seller never sent it, but he also didn't charge me.

I bought a brand new set of Henkel knives for a steal. Not to mention a lot of other good bargains.

I like eBay, but like manic said, if I can easily find the item in stores and see it in person, why use eBay? After eBay got really popular, it got hard to find great deals on it anymore. Plus the risk of buying damaged goods or knockoffs is just too high. And the buyer is often left with no warranty or way to return the product.

Leaving negative feedback in retaliation is lame. It had been done to me a few times when I am on the buying side. As a buyer, you can only mess up by not paying or by paying slow. I always pay as soon as the auction closes, so to think I got negative feedback for complaining about a problem is aggravating. Imagine that kind of service at a Best Buy. Just wouldn't happen.

I see what people are saying, i usually find bargains on slightly faulty laptops that you wouldnt find in any stores, I then try and fix them up and sell them on. Never had a bad experience till I met this jackass.

I love Ebay, I have made some decent money on it.
But you have to be careful, before you buy you shoould always research the item.

Sometimes you can get a good deal.

Some guys do piss me off though, they sell their stuff at the same price you would get at stores.

Always check on the persons feedback and always ask questions on the product.

Or more, once you factor in shipping.

Exactly, I have always wondered who would pay for these items.

Always look for whats not written, they may sell you a Motorola item but if it doesn't say authentic Motorola item they can get away with selling you an imitation...

It happened to me when I brought a Motorola Bluetooth headset, it was a fake.
I should have complained but sometimes it's just a waste of time.

I'm mildly interested but afraid of the kind of porn you have to offer.
