So I'm putting together a mini home gym of sorts. So far I have a bench, 2 olympic dumbells, an olympic bar, pullup bar, and weights. I have limited room because I'm in an apartment, so most of my workout will be with the dumbells.
But on to my question. I'm looking for some heavy duty clips for my oly dumbells... maybe more like clamps? I really don't want 150+ pounds falling on my face when I'm trying to db press. Also, if I don't have a spotter, I have to hold the weights vertically to get them in position to press, and I wouldn't want them to move around or fall off.
I have 2 spring clips, that came with my weight set, and 4 crappy clips... i.e. 2 that I bought are too tight to fit on the bar (seriously, it's impossible, not even like a "tight squeeze"), and 2 are so dinky they would only hold 5-10 pounds. I've checked all my local sports stores and they either don't sell clips, or sell the shitty too-tight ones. None of them have any heavy duty clamps.
Any recommendations? Brands, types? All recommendations are welcome, but I'm not looking to spend a crazy amount of cash on this. Also, if you know a place where I could order some cheap ass normal clips that would actually fit on a bar, that would be nice.
