wtf is this world coming too srsly

very sad.

don't worry, just another school shooting. There's a complete chapter about them i read recently in textbook.

The only reason I heard anything about this was because a friend of mine who went there called me. I didn't see much on the news, which I think is a good thing. These freaks who do this stupid shit are just looking for attention and they usually get way too much of it. Very sad day though.

I have a few friends there too...it struck pretty close home for me (I just moved to AZ from IL).

What's sad is that it could happen with ease at anytime.

It started in the early 90's really. I had 2 shootings alone at my High School, one was a student who shot and paralyzed the Principal, and another was a teachers Husband upset over their divorce, shot her, killed himself......from then up until 1999 Columbine there were several others....I think Jonesboro may have been the one the Columbine boys may have been exposed to, they are very similar....

As for schools, yeah, you're right, it started in the early 90s.

^ Thanks. I was just curious.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest near Seattle, but not close enough to be a suburb. A lot of people hunted, and we used to go shooting, etc.

One accidental shooting outside of school ground caused a death.

One guy I know shot 3 people, claimed self-defense, and won in court.


On a lighter note, people that moved to Houston seem to really like it. I bet Hawaii is nice.

If I don't post for a while and there's a school shooting at IU, I'm probably dead.

I think the question is why.

Is this happening more frequently? Or are we more aware because of more exposure to the media now than in years past?

Are we sweeping people under the rug? What's the real cause?

These people are clinically insane. They have serious mental problems and shouldn't be allowed on college campuses to begin with.

It sucks, but the media propels these people due to the nature of their psychosis. What the media does not tell you, is the fact school violence is down and has been going down for some time:

These shootings make for great media ratings and to brain wash into focusing on the evils of guns, but dropping crime rates don't make for ratings or hysterics...

As long as there are "gun free zones" which are then the perfect target for those looking to harm the most people with the least resistance, they will continue. Now, in places that are smart enough to know how worthless "gun free zones" are, things end quite differently.

The Israeli high school evidently was not a Gun Free Zone, as high schools are in the United States of America. An Israeli army official praised the counselors' action. In the United States of America they almost certainly would have been arrested for violating a Gun Free Zone and fired from their jobs.

In Gush Etzion, southeast of Jerusalem, two Palestinian gunmen wearing IDF uniforms burst into the Makor Haim yeshiva high school. Wielding guns and knives, they lightly injured two Israeli counselors before being shot dead.

The terrorists infiltrated Makor Haim, a kibbutz, sneaking into the main building of its high school seminary, run by world-renowned Talmudist, Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz. The terrorists entered a library room where seven of the boarding school's counselors were meeting. Dressed as security guards, and armed with a knife and what appeared to be a gun -- it later turned out to be a toy -- ordered the seven to line up on one side of the room. A counselor, realizing they were terrorists, drew his personal firearm and opened fire. Another grabbed the fake gun from the other terrorist, wrestled him to the floor, while the first counselor shot him. The terrorists managed to stab two of the counselors before falling dead.

At the same time, the Beit Medrash (study hall) -- adjacent to the library -- was packed with students taking part in the weekly Thursday night "mishmar" all-night Torah study session, Israel National News reported.

An army official praised the quick response of the students and their counselors. "This could have ended much worse," a source in the Central Command said.

What I find disgusting is how the liberals in this country act so upset about the victims of the school shootings, and then in the very next breath assert that these same people couldn't be trusted with the means to defend themselves. We NEED gun-free zones, otherwise someone might get hurt.

Yes it all started with Super Mario Bros. shortly after baby Jessica playing hide and seek thought she could use a pipe as a portal and got stuck. And then there were several cases of kids trying to bust bricks with their heads and alot of mushroom stomping....

I turned the news on this morning and every channel is still covering it.

In the 24 hours prior to the shooting, approximately 125 people will die in car crashes. About 330 will die in negligent medical accidents.
