    I would vote for Obama.

I vote Libertarian though, and in my state, it's so blue that it won't be close enough to matter.

As for your poll DB, the national polls are showing further strength for Obama, as he's getting the white male vote nationally, and he is getting stronger in Ohio, right now.

(Sorry no link, but you can google rasmussen if you care.)

I would vote for Hillary in the hopes of derailing Obama. I don't think there's any contest between McCain and Hillary.... Obama is dangerous though.
He's even been referred to as a 'messianic' figure.... and that is some scary scary shit.

Im not much on political views so I cant say much about this. I think every politician has views and weather or not they actually act upon them while in office is another story. I can say more about this but it would be a book.....

    I'd vote to kill Hillary.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

How so? Please be specific on how he's "dangerous enough."

    This is a Judeo-Xtian concept.

Obama is dangerous because he is so inspiring… however, he’s not inspiring people with anything substantial… only rhetoric. He is a great speaker, and he’s playing the game perfectly. He very craftily alluded to a parallel between himself and Ronald Reagan, and just recently went to Dallas and followed the hallowed path of JFK through Dealy plaza. He’s spinning this great imagery and people seem unable to see past the pretty words to the fact that there really isn’t anything behind the pretty words. At least not that I’ve seen. I did read on his website how he plans to cut taxes on the middle class… but at the same time he has a laundry list of new programs he wants to initiate. I’m very curious as to how he intends to fund these programs without raising taxes.
The concept of his entire campaign is that he’s going to ‘change Washington’ but he doesn’t say shit as to HOW he plans to change it. The simple fact is that regardless of who is elected, it’s going to change Washington, therefore I have no doubt that he would change it, but I find it hard to believe that it would be for the better.
Being an inspirational and charismatic speaker is an important trait for any ‘leader’, however it is not THE most important…. You might remember another guy named Hitler who was also regarded as an inspirational and charismatic speaker. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m NOT drawing a parallel between Obama and Hitler, I’m just using that to illustrate the potential danger of blindly following someone simply because they tell you what they want to hear.

I believe it was (P)Oprah who first referred to him as messianic… as DoubleBase mentioned.

Inspiring to do what? Vote? Cheer?

Action: there won't be any by the people inspired by Obamam. They commute to work, raise families, pay taxes, and follow sports, or such.

A lot of politicians use words and imagery.

George W. Bush quoted Woodrow Wilson many, many, times before invading Iraq. In fact, GWB basically plagierized Woodrow Wilson.

    GWB imagery?

How about standing on the USS Abraham Lincon off of the coast of San Diego, and dressing up as a fighter pilot (stealing the imagery from the movie Top Gun) and putting up the "Mission Accomplished" banner up.

You should read the speech GWB made on the ship: D-day WWII and WWI, freedom, liberty, democracy.

The transcripts of the speech are on the whitehouse.gov website.

You might remember another guy named Hitler who was also regarded as an inspirational and charismatic speaker. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m NOT drawing a parallel between Obama and Hitler
National Socialism and the Weimar Republic after WWI and Hitler are not the same. Sir, you are drawing a parallel. A bit strange.

I’m just using that to illustrate the potential danger of blindly following someone simply because they tell you what they want to hear.

nah, you missed my point smoothy.
I think he's pulling the old bait & switch. Everyone has these high expectations, but in the end he's just a 3 year Senator (in reality, only a 2 year since he took this last year off to campaign) who has voted 'present' more than anyting else. I honestly feel that if he's elected he will be absolutely innefectual in delivering on his promises.
Honestly, I don't care about what GWB has said in the past, he's a frikkin clown, and this has absolutely nothing to do with him.
The thing is, I'm certain that Obama is also a clown, and if elected will manage to screw this up even more than GWB.
For the record, I like NONE of our potential choices in this election... I just think McCain would be the lesser of the three evils presented to us.
...and to be honest, even that's a long shot...

    I see your point, lucifuge.

I agree that his "promises" won't happen.

Things will continue in the USA on the same path. I think it's for the worth, economically at this point. No President, Congress, or other entity can change the current financial road the US is on.

I am talking about what is almost inevitable in about 20 years.

Actually a combination of an educated congress and an educated president could turn this around in my opinion - we need to drastically cut spending which includes stopping this war and pulling our troops out of many places, not just Iraq. We then need to put the surplus which we would have towards paying down the national debt which would immediately have the effect of strengthening the dollar. Social security and health care are two huge issues also I would agree, but I firmly believe that there is a solution (no I don't have an opinion on what that solution should be at the moment).

Now, will this actually happen? No. We have an uneducated citizenry, an uneducated Congress, and a corrupt administration. The most important of the three is the first one, which I see as the root of many of our current problems.
