Thumbs up Determine your body fitness

    Hello,

Determine your body fitness = calculating your BMI "In my opinion"

    so what is BMI ?
Body Mass Index (BMI) can be used to indicate if you are overweight, obese, underweight or normal. It will, however, overestimate fatness in people who are muscular or atheletic. Because of these problems, this body mass index calculator shows extra statistics to help you be informed and judge your own body compared to others of the same height and age.

My BMI is ..... what about it ?
Women tend to believe they look their best at values between 20 to 22 and men are usually satisfied with a BMI of 23 to 25. If your BMI is between 17 to 22, your life expectancy is longer than average. You don't need to lose weight.
If your BMI is between 23 and 25, you are not considered overweight by most people. But if your BMI is 26 or more, that's not good. But you knew that already.

what about BMI world statics ?
    See this static

If you have Another information about BMI please supply us with it.
thank you in advance and I hope My first thread here in this great forums contain useful information. and I hope you have good BMI.

At 188 and 5'11'', mine is 26. The BMI calculator told me "You are fat, need dieting and exercise."

Fuck that. Only some gay standard made up by some scrawny socialist frenchman would say I am "fat." I have four abs showing clearly, and will have a six pack when I cut two or three pounds.

I bet anyone who has a BMI of 20 or less couldn't even bench their own weight.

    Guys, seriously. BMI fucking sucks.

On a side note, I would be proud to break the 25 BMI limit and be in the 'red zone' with a sixpack.

At my heaviest I was 212 at 6'

You are very fat, do something before it's too late

    Right now, at 190 lbs.

You are fat, need dieting and exercise

So funny, I am as ripped as I've ever been. I have visible veins in my traps. BMI is hilarious for weight lifters.

Wow 6' 190lbs is fat, I'll have to go down to like 170 it says, at that weight I look like a prisoner of war.....

BMI is not a crock of shit for the general population. As well to really be obese, you don't just calculate your BMI but need to be assessed by a qualified physician. I've been obese according to BMI calculators since i was 16 years old, that doesn't mean i can go on disability. One look at someone and even a layman will tell obese from fit.

Anyone that is in the medical field or fitness field will also tell you that BMI is only one of many tools used to assess a person's physical fitness and overall level of health.

Its analogous to saying hammers are crap tools because they can't be used to build cars.

I am going to respectfully disagree with you. Even for the general population, BMI doesn't take into account aspects such as cardiovascular heath, bone density, and lifestyle. It isn't very accurate, and any study using BMI data will have unreliable statistical conclusions.

    Just my 2 cents.
