Solid list, but I'm most disappointed with Living on a Prayer being number one.

Not to mention, where is Eddie Money?

This is a flawed list, VH1 fans.

There are a few bands in there that okay but 90% of them are horrible... and the decent bands from the 80s like the Smiths and the Pixies are not mentioned.

Everything has a very similar sound - as far as being musically talented, a lot of these bands included on the list aren't.

Exactly, the Smiths should definately be in there. Pixies are timeless too, great stuff.

    WTF???-
Bow wow wow - I want candy???
The fixx - one thing leads to another?

Surely 'Debaser' or 'This Charming man' are far more deserving of that shit.

It's pop top 40 guys. What did you expect from the masses? These are the same A-holes that make Brittany Spears a gazillionaire.

Guilty admission. I'm a boy of the 80's and LOVED every fucking thing the 80's provided, well... except HIV.

I actually like 80's music and think that toward the end of the 90's music took a huge turn for the worse. All you get now is emo and poppy rock shit, britney spears and that rap where all you hear is the guy going "YEA-YAH" or whatever. I find myself, more and more, listening to classic rock stations or CD's (which are all old hip hop/rock etc).

Hey, I've met 3 of the people on the list!

I like 80's music, I was a kid but I remember a lot more than I probably should. Probably half of these are in my mp3 folder.

    I agree.

Early 90s were great but the end of the 90s... well we pretty much just went back to 80s format. Instead of New Kids on the Block, it was Nsync. Same old trash though.

As i was reading it i felt the list was a bit 'off'. Suspisions were confirmed when i saw Chaka Khan / "Ain't Nobody" 1989 at No.88 but her 'I Feel for you' wasnt even on the list!

I blame 80's pop music on Disco, MTV and yuppies....there's always good music in every decade some decades it's just easier to find......
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles

I am so tired of hearing it at clubs. If I never heard that fucking song again, it would be too soon.

    Absolutely incredible.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.
