    Question Old ass DOS games

    Actually not too old...

Anyone know where I can download revised versions of old DOS games? OR anyone know of a website where I can PLAY old DOS games?

    Ive been wanting to play:
    DOOM
    DOOM 2
    BLOOD
RISE OF THE TRIAD: DARK WAR

There has GOT to be a emulation somewhere, I mean if I can play super nes on my computer, I think I should be able to play old computer games on my computer.

Not sure if Blood has been ported to Win32 yet but Shadow Warrior and Duke Nukem have been. Search Duke Nukem win32 using Google, search engines are your friend. There are two major releases JonOf comes to mind but I forget which I am using.

The Doom titles I prefer on Online Multiplayer Doom - ZDaemon.org tons of people mostly in Europe and Russia still play, latency is fine if you have a good connection because many of them do too.

ROTT was pretty old school and never was super huge, not sure anyone cares about that one now. I used to dual boot with Win98, I have an old box lying around I have been wanting to setup for that to play some LAN gaming as well as online.

I did find DOSBOX and it makes the rott shareware version run, but I think I finally got the WinRott registered version from a torrent. However, it still says "ordering info" on the menu screen so I think I got screwed again.

Blood runs, but the sound is horrible. It also doesnt detect my gamepad (microsoft sidewinder)

ROTT came after DOOM2. I remember playing it with Reproman back in the day. Even the graphics are better, but it never took off as well as DOOM did . Possibly cuz it was so fucking hard and gory.

Oh man, I loved ROTT, but yeah, I always got stuck on the same level. I loved that rocket launcher and the way it took someone apart ("LUDICRIS GIBS!" or whatever it said when you got them really good).

Anyone used to play Scorched Earth? It was a tank game and you can still find it online, but I don't remember liking the new version as much; it made the death's head and leap frog missiles way weaker, and those were always my cheapo's weapon of choice to get easy kills.

SW rocks the hizzy, I was so sad when TEN disappeared because of constant 'hacking' ruining the competitions and ranking system.

Hell yes Scorched Earth and Gorillas were staples on our Navy computers. We spent most of our watches chunking bananas at each other or launching nukes under the dirt cliffs our enemy was hiding behind.....

ROTT was a brutal game. So fun and original. Not sure it was better than Doom, but it was definitely on the same level but for different reasons.

Google ZDoom for the doom games, its a windows frontend for the original .WAD files that came with the game. You can go up to super high screen resolutions and add extra effects and stuff.

If anybody can find something similar for ROTT let me know, gotta play that game again...

How about using vertical guidance to napalm someone right above their shield? It wasn't always a guaranteed kill like nuking under someone without any parachutes, but when it did kill, the effect was brilliant.

Did you guys have a rule where no one could use guidance if there were only human players left? We were so into that game, we even edited the dat files to have our own kill and death phrases, lol.

I don't remember very much about the game, that was a long time ago, I remember Deaths Head and Nukes and Rollers....we played gorillas more often because I would kick ass in SE, of course I had come from the Nintendo age so the older guys didn't stand a chance....

Yeah I played Scorched Earth. I actually have in on floppy disk at home. However it runs too fast now...

I got a lot of games to work thus far. I think I remember seeing the back cover of Shadow Warrior and never played it cuz it looked cheesy. Not the case, huh?
