THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY
does it really work? if i get another offer to extend the warrantee on my car i'm going to choke someone. it says press two to be removed from the list so i have several times. they still don't stop calling.
it's really fast to register but has anyone done it? do the calls really stop?

I never get calls about stuff like that, and I am on the don't call registry. It's also a cell phone instead of a land line though, so I don't know if that has something to do with it.

Telemarketers are probably about to start calling cell phones. I can't find the source, but I read where companies are compiling cell phone number list and selling them. I am already starting to receive some.

I dont think the list is instant. I think there a time period between putting your name on the list and them getting a do not call list. During that time they can still call you.

A couple of things....
As far as I know, the do not call registry does not cover businesses, and it usually takes a couple of weeks to cover your residential phone.
As far as cell phones are concerned, I received this info. the other day....

I think that will be shot down really fast since telemarketers will be forcing you to use up minutes against your consent. I would be willing to bet on it being regulated or made illegal pretty quickly. Originally Posted by KelJu

all you have to do is enter your number and ht register. no forms or anything. i wish i did it a long time ago. i moved in here in dec and get 5 to 8 calls a day.

Just answer your phone like that one guy did as a prank on the telemarketer. He answered and pretended he was a Detective or FBI agent something like that working on the murder of the person whose phone they called. He asked the telemarketer how long he knew the victim and where he was on the night of the day before, etc....etc... He asked where the telemarketers address was and said they'd be sending someone out to bring him in for questioning...it's hilarious I'll try to find it....
