Oftentimes people who get into criminal justice are in those long, long waiting lists to become possible firefighters. It is not unusual for 500 people to apply for one opening. Some people are volunteers for years hoping for their chance. You can help yourself in part by getting paramedic training.
What is one similarity about both cops and firefighters?
They both want to be firefighters.

becoming a fireman
Is anyone currently a fireman or atleast know what is required to become one? I am currently a college student and have been considering becoming a fireman but I dont really know what the requirements are. Any help would be great.

Being in the Navy won't hurt. The fire schools in the Navy are considered top notch training. 2 of my ex-shipmates became firemen after the Navy, one who had a bachelors in Criminal Justice became an Assistant Fire Inspector right out of the Navy after taking some courses. He is now an Arson Investigator. The other is a fire fighter his 3 years of culinary school before the Navy may have helped
