I gave him a ton of shit because it was April fools day. Come to find out he was really fired, his last day is Friday.

    Ouch. Why was he fired?

Working too much. Where I work they have very specific quotas you have to meet, but you can't work unclaimed overtime. So a fair number of people just work the overtime anyway, its like an unspoken agreement that the supervisors look the other way. As far as I know he is the only one to ever be fired for it.

You're gonna see a lot more "firings" in the months to come. We just had a whole airline fire itself, this morning I heard Dell is "firing" a bunch of workers....tough times are evident, but neigh neigh says the government......who am I to disagree they just might up and fire me....permanently...

A similar thing happened to my co-worker, my bosses called this kid Mark into the office, but just before that John starts to bug Mark and say he's a goner, history fired.....sure enough he was fired.
Mark thought he was being cruel but John really didn't know.

I'm sure the Dems will turn it all around by raising taxes and starting more entitlement programs.

So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

It's called a "cycle." If you had taken even the most basic economics class you would realize that. We had somewhere around ~49 consecutive months of job growth.

I'm not sure what to make of that last sentence, you trying to imply the govt is gonna kill you ("fire permanently") for criticizing it? Yeah, that's reality alright. I think if they were gonna kill someone theyd start with the nuts harassing our Marine Recruiters in Berkley.

I suspected it, but is difficult to tell with some characters here.

Ie: BigDyl still thinks it wasn't the airplanes that brought down the WTC.

Oh, I think Americans understand that the one thing conservatives hate the most is the idea of spending American tax money on Americans. . .in America.

Whatever dude, you and the government can call it a "contraction" but when I wake up every morning to another local company going under I worry. First Molokai Ranch and 120 employees got the axe, then Mobile One lays off 50, then Aloha Airlines Tanks taking 2000 with it and this morning 50 lose jobs with ATA Airlines......really starts up the old cortisol pump...

It wasn't it was a non-dimensional vortex where George Lizzie and Ralph slipped into a real world offset by non-linear lightwaves and went all Rampage on those 2 buildings. The 2 airplanes we saw just got snatched out of the sky by their invisible hands, again they were invisible due to non-linear lightwaves....

You are right, I am not particularly thrilled about giving more handouts to people who had the same opportunities I did yet failed to make anything out of themselves, and whom already have access to an excessive number of handouts.

And yet you also have failed to illustrate how any Dem priority will fix any problem we currently have. Sorry to say but more handouts, more taxes, legalizing gay marriage, and instituting drive-through abortions have nothing to do with the economy.
