I am very interested to see the FBI files on MLK. I knew they existed, but I didn't know that they would ever be released.
And here comes the other lame turd of IM. You and Clemson should hang out. Honestly, I have never heard either one of you ever offer an encouraging word to anyone. I have never seen either of you offer a suggestion or advice to anyone. Nope, just pop in to to say something judgmental, then off you go. With your powers combined, IM is officially 20% lamer and more depressing.

Do you realize the irony of your posts? Probably not, maybe I can help. You insult someone, then say that all they do is say negative things in the next sentence. You are what people call a hypocrite.

I doubt you've read every single one of my 1000+ posts, so please, don't try to act like you have when you tell me I've never offered any advice or suggestions. I certainly wouldn't try to create the illusion that I know all of your posts.

edit: I just realized I helped you to realize the irony of your posts, that is advice. So now you have witnessed me giving advice. Enjoy.

Right, but you, Clemson, and Danny81 are the only people that get on my nerves. There is no hope for Clemson and Danny. They have been made fun of relentlessly for a long time, and haven't changed a bit.

You are a smart guy. Really smart. I figure you would realize that most of us want to talk training learn some stuff about training , give and receive support from our peers to keep us motivated to archive goals, and have a few laughs.

This is a community. Most of us have been here a long time and are a tight knit group. For years, we laughed, made fun of each other, ripped on each other, posted funny clips, and funny pictures. I use to love to get up in the morning and browse IM for a minute while I drank my coffee.

And people like you are destroying it. This as become boring and depressing, and it is pissing me off. You are destroying something that I loved. Every fucking thread is Obama, Hillery, conservative, liberal, bush, ect ect ect. ITS FOX FUCKING NEWS NOW.

I get very little joy out of coming here now. Ah fuck it! I don't care. Turn Open chat into a political blog. I don't think I'll be back.

No one is forcing you to read those particular threads, or posts in those threads. For example, I ignore and don't respond to anything kbm### has to say. I don't start many threads, and of the handful (less than 20, I would guess) that I have started, probably less than 60% were politics-related.

If you have such a problem with it, exercise some self-control and don't open the thread, don't get angry with others for having a discussion on a topic you don't want to read, that's absurd.

Damn straight, and well said Kelju. Politics threads are the most prolific threads on open chat. Mostly due to a very vocal select few endlessly debating the same subjects over and over.

A lot of fun has gone from open chat, people complain about the "banned-members" but they were a lot more entertaining than endless politics.

    We think the same.

I also really don't think baseball should have retired Jackie Robinsons number...great man, great player but if they don't to the same with Babe Ruth than it's just not right.

MLK was a great man and a great black leader. He believed in education, love, self responsibility. He had said many times that he could not hate white people for how blacks were treated, because he would be contradicting himself. He knew that he would probably be assassinated but went on fighting for his people. He was a man of virtue and integrity.

But, he is not the only man in US History to have these qualities. Many men have lived just as incredible lives as he did. They don't get their own day, so I don't really give a shit if MLK gets his own day or not.

People could better honor MLK's memory by following his example, and not taking a day off. If the black community lived by his example, race relations would be farther than they are today. The black community needs another black leader like MLK instead of the pieces of shit like Jackson, and Sharpton.

Thats not exact, but the idea is the same.

The MLK holiday is a positive thing. It celebrates someone who died for a positive change; he was a martyr. Also, you get the day off work, so I think if you're against it, you should work that day to protest it.

The extent of which is largely unknown, because the files are sealed. It is also a known fact that he had extramarital affairs. Again, the extent and nature are largely unknown, many people believe white prostitutes were involved. Whether that is a truthful leak of information or just rumor will be made clear when the files are unsealed.

On top of that, a 1991 study revealed extensive plagiarism in many of his speeches and academic works. So he is already a known communist supporter, academic cheater, and marital cheater. Based on these three character indicia alone, one could form the opinion that the additional unknown facts may be largely negative.

I can just imagine where that "study" came from. . .

Do you remember who was the director of the FBI back then?

So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

The 70s and the 80s saw the rise of non-Anglo historical figures, but not so much with the "only non-whites were really good people" mentality.
